I take off my jacket and rub my eyes with a tired sigh. Ralph notices this and smiles softly at me.
"Do you wanna call it a night, partner?" He asks.
I can't help but smirk at how quick he is to get off the job. "Go on, nothing's come up anyway." I shrug.
Ralph instantly pulls on his jacket and makes his way to the door. "You're not coming, Drew?"
I shake my head. "I've got a little more paper work than you. Have a good night."
He grins and leaves instantly, making my smile grow at the thought that he's so much like a child leaving school to go home whenever he's off shift.
I look through some of my work mail, noticing one in particular doesn't have a return address. This makes my eyebrows furrow together in curiosity so I open it.
Inside is a note. I read it carefully.
"Hello there little lamb. Have you any wool for me? You're still just a lamb, you don't have nearly enough. It's a thin herd but that's the thing with wool bearers like you, there's so many more."
I panic at the threatening tone of this letter and instantly call my parents.
After three rings my mother picks up. "Hello."
"Mum, I need you and dad to get somewhere safe now." I tell her.
"Drew, what's wrong?" She checks before I can hear glass shattering.
"Mum!" I gasp, grabbing my jacket and keys to get in my car and driving all the way there.
Sensing that it's an emergency, I turn on my sirens and drive as fast as I can to get to my parent's home before something terrible happens.
I plug my phone into the car for the call to continue on speaker, hearing a violent sounding struggle.
When I get there, I run out to the house, using my keys to get in.
"Stay right there baby Woolnough." An unfamiliar voice chuckles while stroking my unconscious parents intrusively.
I glare at the man for a moment. "Get away from them!" I growl at him.
He chuckles at the sound of this. I snarl as I reach for my gun and point it at him.
"Don't be such a square." He giggles.
"If you don't get away from them right now, I'll shoot." I warn.
Instead of looking alarmed, his grin grows wider. I'm just about to shoot him in the shoulder when someone behind me forces something against my nose and mouth.
I drop the gun and put up a struggle to slip out of the man behind me's strong grip but he keeps a firm hold on me, pressing the soaked handkerchief against my nose and mouth.
The more the sticky sweet scent creeps into my nostrils, the weaker my struggle becomes until everything just goes black.

The first thing I hear when I regain consciousness is dripping and the echo of what could be concrete walls. I instantly work out that I've been blindfolded since I can't see anything and my eyelashes can feel something over my eyes.
When it occurs to me that I've been kidnapped, I try calling for help.
"Shh little lamb, no one can hear us." A voice whispers as hands start stroking my hair.
"You!" I growl, recognising that voice from the man at my parents' house.
"If you keep speaking out of time, I'm afraid I'll have to silence you." He whispers in my ear before licking it.
