When I finally get tired, I pop another dose of sleeping pills and follow Kier into the bedroom, letting out a relieved chuckle at the fact that there's two beds. Kier barely stirs so I quietly get undressed and hide underneath the covers, keeping a flip knife underneath my pillow to reassure myself that I'm not entirely vulnerable. The quiet sounds of Kier breathing helps me relax. I close my eyes, running my thumb over the folded knife's handle while listening carefully to Kier's breaths.
The soft sounds send me into a calming sleep.

A hand on my shoulder causes me to pounce awake immediately, drawing the knife and opening it out. I stop when I see that it is only Kier and let out a sigh.
"Sorry, I thought you were someone else." I tell him as I put the knife away.
"Don't worry about it, I certainly understand. Sorry I scared you." He calmly replies.
"You have no idea how embarrassing all this is. I've always been alert but I've rarely overreacted like this before." I admit, reaching for some fresh clothes to change into.
"Drew, I totally get it, you don't need to explain yourself." He smiles. "Although, I don't think sleeping with a flip knife is entirely following protocol." He adds while I finish getting dressed.
"It basically falls under the fact that what people do behind closed doors can't really be controlled so there's no laws about sleeping with a knife under my pillow. If I were to take it with me when I go to the shops or something, that would be more illegal." I report, scratching the back of my head.
"I thought as much." He sighs. "Still, just because your gun has been taken away, doesn't mean you have to go around with a knife instead."
I go a little awkward at the sound of this. "I always carry a knife." I admit. "I can't quite do my job without it." I add.
He smiles sympathetically. "As long as you don't stab anyone, you'll be fine. I won't tell on you." He explains. "You can understand why I'm a little worried about it though." He replies.
"You don't want someone to use it against me." I figure out. "It's a well kept secret, the only reason I couldn't use it to protect myself from Shane was that I was handcuffed. Normally I keep my knife in my sock, not many criminals will ever want to see my feet so it has never been discovered." I honestly tell him.
"I'll keep the secret." He reassures.
We go quiet when we see a police car pulling up outside the safe house.
"I'll go check on it." Kier decides.
"I'm going with you." I add, also getting up but he holds me back by pressing on the centre of my chest.
"I'm sorry Drew but to keep the highest security for you, you're not allowed to leave this building." Kier guiltily points out. "I promise I'll find out what's going on and come straight back." He adds before leaving the room.
I frown but follow him only to one of the blacked out windows so that I can peek through one of the holes in it to see what's going on.
A uniformed officer gets out of the car with some papers and hands them to Kier for him to examine. They keep talking for a moment until Kier just shrugs and walks back to the safe house. The officer gets back into his car to put it in a place hidden from plain view before following Kier.
"What is going on?" I ask Kier instantly.
He hands me the papers. "Apparently they're transferring you to another safe house. It's official, the papers even have Captain Beveridge's signature." He tells me, passing me the sheet of paper for me to read also.
