I do everything I can to avoid the worried looks on the walk to my desk. Kier immediately smiles at me in an attempt to make me feel normal.

"Sorry about that. Can we just pretend that never happened?" I try.

"What never happened?" Kier smirks in a friendly way.

I manage a pained smile at his reaction, just so grateful that he's willing to put all of it behind him.

"So I went through our victim's emails and text messages to find that not only is he unaware of the dangers of having only one password but he seemed to be one of the official staff at the club. He was a caterer there and would occasionally spend his free time, well, we all know what." Ryan reports.

"I don't know if I blame him." Kier jokes.

"He must have had some kind of traumatic childhood or something." I mumble.

"You'd be surprised. Apparently that's one of the most common fetishes." Kier points out.

"I'm disturbed that you know that." I tell him plainly.

"Anyway, something I thought might be useful to us, he's got a date marked in his calendar which isn't anything that his next of kin know about. Even his colleagues at the club don't know what this date means. I think it's worth looking into." Ryan points out.

"Is it marked on his calendar yearly?" I ask him curiously.

"Let me check." He looks down at his computer and starts typing in the command. "Yes it is."

"What do you think it means?" Kier asks me.

"I'm not sure yet. When did they start appearing on his calendar?" I check.

"Six years ago." He replies.

"According to his records he was still here six years ago working in the same place. Maybe something happened that day to make him mark it down in his calendar." I work out.

"Maybe it's something like meeting the person he loves for the first time." Ryan suggests.

"Um, I know it's crazy that I remember this but there was a hit and run case all over the news for a while. I think the girl was hit on that day but I'll need to check." Kier manages.

"It'll be impressive if you're right on this." I smile at him.

"I have a really good memory and the girl was also the same age as me at the time so it remained in my mind for a while." He explains.

Ryan instantly starts looking it up. "Kier, that's very unnerving but you're right. Katie Barnes was hit by a drunk driver on the way back from her 13th birthday party six years ago. What a tragedy." He sighs.

"I hope it was at least quick." I softly add.

They both give me a cautious look but I just ignore them.

"Well, if that's the case, we need to find evidence linking the two." I point out. "I'm popping outside for a break for just a few minutes, sorry." I tell them before leaving the building.

Sure enough Kier follows me out and sits down on the outside bench next to me.

"I want to be alone right now." I sigh.

"I get it but your Captain told me to keep an eye on you. You don't have to talk to me right now but I find that being around someone who's going to support you, even if nothing's said, can be helpful." He works out.

I bite my lip to avoid breaking down into tears at the sound of this.

Kier notices this and wraps a reassuring arm around me. I rest my head on his shoulder as I let go, retreating back to tears.

Kier stays true to his word and doesn't say anything. This makes me cry harder, completely wrecked and ruined now that Shane's somewhere I don't know. I constantly found reassurance knowing he was locked up where I could go and see him behind bars.

I stop when Kier gets a message on his phone, looking at it to see that it's our Captain calling him to his office. I'm slightly unnerved by the detail that I shouldn't leave my desk.

It's not good news is it?

"Sorry Drew but I have to go. I can try and request a few more minutes if you feel like you'll need them." He suggests.

"From the message, I can tell it's serious. You shouldn't keep him waiting." I dully reply.

"That wasn't what I was suggesting. If you want I can spend more time with you." Kier points out.

I shake my head, wiping off the tears. "I've really cried more than enough." I mutter, getting up and heading towards the office for him to follow me.
