Meg’s POV

Lately this house have been quiet, I mean they have not been talking to each other. Today has been a month since I told them the news. Just like Red promised he has been by my side, every step of the way. Liyah has been a very big help also. She and my brother are not even on speaking terms. Do I know what happened? No. Is it any of my business? No. I have my own problems, than to worry about them two.

Anyway right now I am getting ready to head out with Red, for my doctor appointment. As I tied my shoe I see him calling me.

“You ready?” he asked.

“Yeah.” I sighs. “Give me a good 5 minutes.”

“Okay.”

I slid my phone in my jacket pocket. I grabbed my purse and walked downstairs. My father looked at me and shook his head. My mother looked at me and nodded.

“Where you going?” she asked, still looking at her magazine.

“To my doctor’s appointment.” I shrugged.

“With Red?”

“Yes.” I nodded.

“Okay.” She smiled. “Be safe.”

I walked out the door and Red hopped out and opened the car door for me. I slid in and strapped myself in. he closed the door and jogged to the other side. He pulled off into the street and headed down the road.

“Nervous?” he smiled at me.

“Yeah.” I sigh. “Very.”

“It’s okay.” He rubbed my leg. “Ima be here with you through everything.”

“You promise?”

“I don’t make promises.” He said, straight forward. “Cause it’s not a guarantee I can keep it.”

“So what you saying?”

“What you mean?”

“You can’t promise me you will always be in our baby life?”

“No.” he shook his head.

“Whatever.” I mumbled.

We pulled up in the doctor parking lot; before he could fully park I hopped out. I walked in and saw a ton of little kids in here running around. I signed myself in and sat down, Red walked in and sat next to me. I didn’t want to look at him right now. I turned my head and saw this girl, she looked about my age and her baby was screaming. She tried everything in her power to keep the baby to stop crying, but it seem like everything she did just pissed her off more. Her little girl is very beautiful. She looked at me and the look in her eyes screamed help. I walked to her side and sat next to her. I reached my hands out and she slid her in my arms.

I laid her on my chest and rocked left to right. I started to hum in her ear and she started stop crying.

Hush, little baby, don't say a word,

Mama's going to buy you a mockingbird.

And if that mockingbird don't sing,

Mama's going to buy you a diamond ring.

And if that diamond ring turns brass,

Mama's going to buy you a looking glass.

And if that looking glass gets broke,

Mama's going to buy you a Billy goat.

And if that Billy goat won't pull,

Mama's going to buy you a cart and bull.
