The next day at 16:57
"Goodbye mother, goodbye father," I shout to my parents as I slam the door behind me. I run over to Giles and give him an extra carrot.
"Here you go boy."
He takes it and munches it.
"You'll need your strength." I climb onto his back. "After all we only have three minutes left. Ya!" I signal for him to go forward. He swallows his carrot and runs as fast as he can towards the woods.
I make him halt when I see Oscar and I jump off him.
"Hi," I smile at Oscar, but he doesn't respond instantly. He has a worried look on his face.
"Sh!" he tells me.
"Oh," I whisper in response. I look around to see what Oscar was afraid of.
"Don't ask questions, just take Giles and you far away from here, don't say where it is aloud. Just do it. Don't worry, I'll follow behind. But whatever you do, don't look back. Keep going forward," he explains.
Somehow I didn't trust Oscar. It was like he was kidnapping me and making me get lost, but of course, at the same time I was naive enough to trust him.
So I hopped back on Giles and made him run as fast as his legs could go, far away. Where I've never went before.
I was so tempted to look back, but I promised myself and Oscar that I wouldn't. So instead I hugged onto Oscar's back, closed my eyes and hoped for the best.
"Stop!" I heard Oscar shout. I sat upright and gasped. I pulled back Giles's reins. He came to a stop.
"Here will do," Oscar whispered.
I was to scared to do anything so I sat as still as I could.
Oscar looked round to check if no one was there. "All clear."
"Can I get down now?" I ask him.
"Yes."
I jump down from Giles.
"What's the matter?" I ask Oscar.
"It's Satan."
"Satan?"
A chill was sent down my spine. Satan. Satan?!?! I was hoping it was just the name of his friend, but something told me that with a name like that, I was going to make an antagonist.
"Yes, Satan," Oscar replied. "Beware of Satan. Satan is a ghost, just like me, except he can cause harm, danger, to the world. He could harm both ghosts and humans, so whatever you do, do not trust Satan."
I just nod in response. I was so shocked that I couldn't do anything else.
"Anyway," Oscar snaps. "Where were we?"
"I was introducing you and Giles, my horse," I tell him.
"Ah yes," he replies, sounding somewhat posh.
I look at Giles and smile. "Giles, this is my new friend." I look at Oscar and point my hand in his direction. "Oscar."
"Hi," Oscar says to Giles, shyly.
Giles just stands there, but I could tell he was on edge. "It's ok, he won't hurt you. I've got you."
"Hi Giles," Oscar says, looking into his eyes.
"Pat his nose," I tell Oscar.
"Oh no, I couldn't."
"Why not? Giles won't bite you. Won't you?" I ask Giles. Giles shakes his head and snorts.
"It's not that, Lizzie," Oscar sighs. He sadly looks down at the ground beneath him. I frown at him. "What's the matter, Oscar?"
"I'm a ghost."
"Yeah, I can see that," I tell him.
"Can't you see? Lizzie, ghosts can't touch objects."
"Why not? I can touch you..." I put my hand out and try to touch Oscar. But instead, my hand goes right through him. I gasped and quickly took my hand back out.
Oscar jumped in shock and frowned at me. "Lizzie!" he shouts.
I gasp again. "Oscar. I'm....I'm sorry."
"No, Lizzie. Can't you see?!" he shouts at me. "I'm a ghost. Don't you know what a ghost is?!"
"Yes!" I shout back at him. "I have been researching about ghosts my whole life!"
"Well it doesn't seem like it," Oscar says, getting louder.
"Don't you raise your voice at me!"
"I can do what I like. After all, I am a ghost!"
There was a whoosh in the air and Giles jumps up on his hind legs. He lets out a loud noise.
"Giles, Giles it's ok," I tell him, gently stroking his fur, trying to get him to calm down. It didn't seem to be working.
"Now look what you've done!" I tell Oscar.
"No, Lizzie. Sh!"
"Don't you dare tell me to sh!"
"No, I'm serious. Sh! Your life is at danger," Oscar snaps at me.
I shut my mouth.
"Listen," Oscar whispers. Giles goes down on his four legs again and I gently pat him well done.
Suddenly there's another whoosh in the wind again.
"It's Satan. He found us," Oscar explains, looking at me.
"Oh," I say, sadly.
"You cannot be seen here, Lizzie. Never again."
I knew Oscar was trying to protect me, but something told me that he didn't want me there, safe or not safe.
"But? But...."
"No buts, Lizzie. Please, just go. And never come back. Your life is at danger here."
I wanted to respond, but I couldn't think of anything to say.
"Take Giles and go. GO!" Oscar shouts.
I jump on Giles and signal for him to go as fast as he can. He runs back home. We leave just in time for Oscar to not see me cry.
Tears stream down my cheeks. I burst out crying and hold onto Giles's back tightly.
But Giles goes so fast that he trips and falls. I fall to the ground, along with him.
I look up at the sky. The clouds were forming into one. They were telling me that it was going to rain soon.
I look at Giles, who had his eyes shut right beside me.
I wanted to get up and help him, but I didn't have the strength to. So I just lay my head back and my eyes gently shut.
