Some say blood is thicker than water
but what if the line was a bit longer
I say the blood of the covenant is thicker
than the water of the womb
family is forced upon us all
friends are chosen by will
family makes us fall
while friends help us stand tall
But if its supposed to be the other way
what does family really mean
we share a common ancestor
but with nothing in common
it just feels wrong
Some friends see you as family
And all families start as friends
Family grows us
while friends mold us
Family controls us
and our friends have set us free
