A/N So this is my first Chekov imagine...I tried to write his accent but I also kind of gave up so you can just pretend...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"I'm sorry, but we need to break up," you said, looking into the eyes of Pavel Chekov, the only man you could truly say you ever loved.
"(Y/n), I don't understand. I thought ewerything was going well between us?" He looked at you with his eyes that reminded you so much of a puppy's.
"I just can't do this."  You turned and walked away, leaving Chekov with his hand outstretched as if he was trying to pull you back.
The truth was, you loved him with all of your heart.  The Russian whiz kid was the only one who could bring a smile to your face and remind you what it was to be alive, and that's exactly why you had decided it wasn't fair to him to stay in the relationship.  Chekov deserved someone who could always match his happiness and didn't constantly feel dead to everything.  He deserved someone who wasn't so messed up.
A year passed, slowly, and you found yourself glancing over at him to see how he was doing.  For a while, his smile had dulled, and you had worried about him, but it seemed to have returned now.  You watched him in the mess hall, surrounded by his friends, laughing.
He looked up for a brief second and caught your eyes.  His eyes held no anger, only slight confusion and something you couldn't quite put your finger on, desire maybe, but you couldn't be sure what for.  After a second, you got up and walked away, not noticing anything around you anymore.
A hand grabbed your arm as you stepped into the hallway.  "(Y/n)."
"Yes ensign?"  You turned to face Pavel Chekov, his cheeks flushed ever so slightly.
"I've spent ze entire year without you, and I miss you more than anything.  It's been hell for me," he said, moving closer.
"Chekov, you can't feel this way anymore.  You need to do what's best for yourself and forget me," you stated, starting to turn away.
"What's best for me is getting you back.  Please, (y/n).  Without you, I can't focus on anything, and my whole world seems darker," he exclaimed.  You stopped moving and your breath caught in your throat.
"Pavel, I love you, but I'm not good for you.  You need someone different," you said.
"No, I need you.  Why did you break up with me if you still love me?  Why?" he asked, tears appearing in his eyes.
"Because I am the human version of a black hole!  I draw people in and end up destroying them!  I don't want that to happen to you!"
"Well you don't get to make that call, okay?" Chekov said, "I love you too, and I will continue to love you for all of eternity even if it destroys me!"
"Pavel..."
"Listen to me, (y/n), I love you with every fiber of my being, and there's nothing I can do about it, so you can either take me back and grant us a chance at happiness, or you can watch this slowly destroy me from afar!"
You stood in shock, and just before he turned to go away, sure you would reject him, you pressed your mouth to his and clung as closely to him as humanly possible while sobbing into is yellow shirt.
