(Elder Theo^^^^^^^)
The Institute
We arrived back at the institute, still processing everything that's happened today. As we entered the institute, we were met by elder Theo. "Ah. You have returned," he said, walking towards us. When he caught sight of my eyes, he flinched a little, trying hard not to lower his gaze. "I see you have regained your powers, Hunter," he said, struggling to maintain eye contact."
"Yeah. It's pretty cool, actually. Especially the part that makes you look like you want to pee in your pants every time you look into my eyes," I say mischievously. He chuckles and throws his head back. I hear I low growl next to me, and I look over, seeing Dane glaring at Theo. I clear my throat, and his features change back to its seriousness. That was weird. I've never seen Dane react that way until now, I wonder why. "You have to excuse me, but it's been a long time since I've looked a royal straight in the eyes," said Theo. "My father?" I questioned. "He rejected the status, thus his loyalty to the elders," Theo says. "Hey, Theo, Mrs Fredericks told me I'm a witch. She also told me that the institute is the place that would train me," Freya explained. "Ah, yes. If you'll follow me, I'll introduce you to your trainer," he motioned for her while walking away. Freya squealed and followed him, practically jumping the whole way."Well, I guess I'll leave you guys to it. I'll catch yous tomorrow," Chris said. "What are you talking about? You don't have to go," I said. "You guys have training and research to do. There is nothing supernatural about me, so I don't have to stay," he said. "That doesn't mean you have to go," I pleaded. "I have nothing to contribute to the institute and to the mission of finding your father. I'm dead weight. But I'll keep in touch with you guys. After all, you guys are my best friends," he said. He turned and started for the door. "Actually, you are supernatural," Tyler said. "No, I'm not. I'm as human as they come," he said. "Have you ever heard of a weaver?" Tyler asked Chris. "Yeah. They have the ability to open very intricate portals, portals that no ordinary nephilim can open," he answers flawlessly. "How did you know that?" I asked. "I-I-I don't know. It just came to me," he answered. "Only a weaver would know that on the spot. I sensed it the moment I saw you. I thought you were aware," Tyler said. "So what, I'm your personal portal blacksmith, and that's it. That hardly needs the type of training you guys need,"he says. "Well, you are actually very important when we go on missions, especially if we need a fast way out. Plus, weavers need combat training as well. They carve special runes onto themselves, which allows them to access the strength, speed, and agility they need in combat. Things I will teach you. Now get your ass in gear and follow me," Tyler commanded. Chris hesitated but followed Tyler instead. I chuckled as I watched him follow Tyler like a puppy.
Dane walked up to me and told me to follow him. We walked past the same rooms as we did earlier this evening. We walked up two flights of stairs and straight into a room. "This is where you'll sleep for the duration of your stay. Everything and anything you need, you can just ask one of the helpers, we have them here twenty-four seven because most people sleep here, in the institue that is," he explained. I nodded, but I couldn't tear my eyes away from him. He was just so perfect. He had the lightest blue eyes I have ever seen, tanned skin, dark black hair, a muscular frame that made me flush. We kept our gazes. I've wanted to just kiss him from the moment I saw him, but I didn't want to make things awkward. "Dane, do you believe that you can start liking someone, even though you haven't known them for a long time?" I asked. "I do. I uh... never mind. You get some rest, we'll start training tomorrow." With that, he left the room. I turned around and gave a heavy sigh. My chest tightened at the feeling he had left me with. Suddenly, the door bursts open, and Dane storms in, heading for me. He grabs the back of my neck and brings his face to mine. He lets it linger for just a second and brings his lips down onto mine. The kiss wasn't intense and careful. It was sweet and passionate. His taste of mint and berry drag me deeper into the kiss. My heart hammers in my chest, but his lips are the best escape. Everything is blocked out, and he's the only thing that I can focus on. He breaks the kiss, his forehead against mine. "Yeah. I've wanted to kiss you the first time I saw you too," he says, and he lets go of my neck, giving me a peck on my lips and leaves, closing the door behind him. I stand for the next 10 minutes, trying to process what just happened. What am I saying? I know what just happened. We had our first kiss. Was it a one-time thing only? Will things be awkward between us? Will we make something of this connection? All of those questions linger in my mind as I fall onto the bed and let sleep take over me.
SORRY FOR THE SHORT CHAPTER, BUT I WANTED TO INTRODUCE DANE AND HUNTER'S RELATIONSHIP. I KNOW THEY HAVEN'T HAD ANY OTHER CONNECTIONS EXPLAINED IN THE PREVIOUS CHAPTERS, BUT I DECIDED TO DO IT THIS WAY TO ADD A KIND OF TWIST. MOST PEOPLE WILL STOP READING THE BOOK FROM HERE BECAUSE THEY NOT INTO THE WHOLE LGBT THING, BUT FOR THOSE WHO READ ON, I APPRECIATE IT. THANK YOU!
