Merry Christmas, Kiss My AssA P R I L
"There's something I need to tell you and you're not going to like it."
"If you haven't got me anything for Christmas, I'm not bothered. Because you're here," I said, trying to lighten the mood a bit.
"I don't know how to say this," Calum sighed.
His lips moved, but nothing came out.
"Just say what you need to say."
I didn't mean to say it in a bitchy way, I was just trying to usher him into saying whatever he needed to say.
"Lukehasagirlfriend," Calum said, very rushed.
I couldn't understand what he said.
"What did you say, I couldn't understand because you spoke so fast."
"Luke has a girlfriend," he said more clearly.
My heart sunk.
"What-what do you mean, he has a girlfriend?" I asked, my voice cracking.
"I'm so sorry Apes," Calum said, shuffling the short distance to me and pulling me in for a hug.
"You're lying to me, aren't you?" I asked, hoping that I was right.
"I wish I was."
I began crying into his chest. Crying had become a second nature to me. Crying until I thought that there were no more tears to cry. But that was a lie, I always had some tears left, no matter what the situation was.
"Are you sure you're not lying to me?" I asked, with the little hope I had left.
Maybe Calum was just joking and this was an early April fools. I know I already asked him if he was lying. I just wanted some clarification I guess. I didn't want it to be true. Of course I didn't.
It had to be when I was starting to think of him less. Just when I thought that we'd be friends again. In the future. Not now. Maybe when we were both mature enough to put the past behind us.
"I'm not lying to you, April. I promise," Calum said, soothingly, breaking me out of my thoughts, "I would never even think about lying to you about something like this. Even when we fall out."
"Oh," I said.
"What?" Calum said confusingly, "was it something I said?"
"It makes sense now," I said, thinking things over in my head.
I almost immediately jumped up off my bed and started pacing around my room. The letter. Thats what he's sorry about.
"April?" Calum asked, sitting up and moving to sit on the edge of the bed.
"The letter, Calum. He meant he was sorry about this. Well his 'girlfriend'," I said using my fingers as quotation marks around girlfriend, "who even is his girlfriend?"
Calum didn't say anything for a few seconds. He was probably debating whether to tell me or not.
"Aleisha, "he said.
"What about Aleisha?"
"Aleisha is Lukes girlfriend," Calum sighed.
"Aleisha, as in Aleisha who was one of my friends?" I asked.
"Yes."
"oh my god," I scoffed, "what the fuck is wrong with him? With her? She was one of my friends for fuck sake."
