I'm sorryA P R I L
It was currently Christmas Eve Eve and I had just woken up. Sahara and I were planning on going into town to buy some last minute Christmas presents.
I was still in bed, on my laptop. I was checking through twitter. Nothing was taking my attention, so I decided to check YouTube, mainly just to see if 5SOS had posted a new cover. It's weird calling Calum, Luke and Michael 5SOS/5 Seconds Of Summer.
I knew they had a gig the other week, Calum said that it went really good. He also mentioned that they didn't have a drummer, so they took a chance and asked a guy called Ashton to join them.
To my joy, there was a video called teenage dirt bag - 5 Seconds Of Summer cover. I noticed that there was an extra guy on the left, who I'm assuming is Ashton.
I clicked on the video. I began laughing at the sight of Calum. He looked ridiculous to say the least. Michael was the one to introduce the guy on the left.
I was happy to hear that Ashton had joined the band, I guess they're complete now. I'm honestly so proud of all of them.
I made a mental note to tell Calum congratulations for finding a drummer.
I watched the video and ended up lip syncing to it. Teenage dirtbag was one of my feel good songs. It made me want to jump and start dancing.
I did end up replaying the video more than once and just dancing. I then remembered that I needed to start getting read to go shopping.
I shut my laptop and got out of bed. I walked out of the door and down one of the flight of stairs. I saw James coming out of his room.
"Good morning, Apes," he said, walking over to me and giving me a hug, "sleep well?"
"Better than usual," I smiled, "how did you sleep?"
"Good, mum said there's something you need to tell me? She said it was kind of important?"
"Oh, erm. Luke and I aren't together anymore," I said quietly.
"Oh, April, I'm sorry," he said, pulling my into a hug almost immediately.
"It's okay, it's been 10 months, I'm okay now."
10 months..... oh. I didn't think it had been that long since I left Australia. 10 months since I lost Luke.
For the first 6 six months of been in England, I was locked away in my room, only ever coming out when I needed to.
"I'm always here to talk, even though you may not feel comfortable telling me your problems. But I'm here. I'll always be here April, no matter what," he said.
His words made me feel safe. Those were the words that I was waiting to hear, to make me feel safe.
"Thank you, it means a lot," I said truthfully, pulling away from his hug.
"It's okay, that's what big brothers are here for. To protect their younger sisters," he smiled, "let's go down for breakfast, yeah?"
