CHAPTER 22
RENESMEE CULLEN
I woke up with the sun hot on my rather bare back, it was warm and homey. I rolled over in the bed, stretching my legs out, rubbing my eye with my closed fists. "Ow..." I moaned, cutting the skin beside my eye with the ring on my finger. I forgot it was there. I looked over at the sleeping Jacob, not wanting to wake him I got out of bed quietly. I grabbed my cell phone off the table by the bed and walked around to the other side of the bed. I was in my underclothing; not something I'd run around in all day. I saw Jacob's t-shirt laying on the chair by the window which I put on and dashed down the stairs.
I walked into the kitchen and grabbed some orange juice. I saw that it was nine ten in the morning; not as late as I thought it'd be. With my cup I walked out into the living room and plopped down on the couch. I decided I would call my sister, ask her how she was doing.
One ring..... Two rings..... Three rings....
"Hello?" she said, obviously unaware who it was.
"Hey, Rachel." I said, she clearly hadn't saved the number.
"Renesmee?" she asked curiously, I sighed.
"No, Its Santa." I mused making her laugh.
"How are you and Jacob?" she asked whilst, from the sound of it, eating celery.
"Were good, but, ugh, can you keep a secret?" I replied rather nervously; she gasped.
"Renesmee... You didn't, did you?!" She accused, making me bite my lip.
I wanted to all out laugh; she thought we did 'it.' After sometime I suppose she thought I was embarrassed to admit it; "Renesmee?" She probed urgently, her tone full of anticipation. I laughed; "No, no not that." I said to her, she let out a sigh of relief. "You can't tell anyone, though. Anyone." I said firmly. She let out a giggle, "Okay I swear I won't tell a soul. Not even Ciaran." She replied slight; "No, I mean you can't tell anyone. Not any of our friends, or even Ciaran." I said, hoping she'd get the picture. "I won't tell a soul. Not unless you say I can." she said, I had a mental picture of her crossing her heart with her left hand. "Okay, well, Jacob proposed to me last night!" I squealed happily; she gasped on the other line. "Oh my god! Renesmeeeee!" She moaned, holding out the 'e' for at least fifteen seconds.
I sat there whilst waiting for her to calm down, she was spewing words I hadn't heard her say before, and never thought I would. After a few minutes she began to calm down, I sat patiently waiting. "Well, I'm sorry but Ciarans coming. I know why you don't want me to tell anyone, and I won't. What time will you be home tomorrow?" she rambled; Ciaran must be near. "I understand, thanks a ton. And we'll be home about one." I answered; we both still had the excited edge to our voice. "Kayy, love ya' Ness." she said, making me smile, "Love you too Rach, be good." I mused; she laughed and the line went dead. I smiled to myself as I shut the phone.
I'm glad I didn't ask her my super-secret question; the look on her face would need to be video taped. I stood up, stretching my muscles. I walked into the kitchen and sat my glass on the table, pondering the thought that possibly, just possibly, I could make breakfast for Jacob. I shook my head, I would make breakfast for him. I knew he was a fan of cinnamon buns, bacon and eggs. I was glad my father taught me how to cook, although I solemnly did so seeing as Esme was a fan of pampering Rachel, Jacob and I with the luxury of being a 'chef.'
