-Static Bomb/Caitlin's POV-
As I entered the lab my heart rate increased majorly, my farther was standing in the middle of the room with a solemn look on his face.
"Are you ready?" I asked getting straight to the point, I knew it wouldn't be long until they all worked it out.
"Yes," he gulped, "okay so I'm going to inject you with this drug that was specially developed here, it will basically bring my Caitlin forward and expel you." he explained like a doctor, fiddling around with a needle. He approached me slowly, "are you sure?" he asked one last time.
"Just get on with it please." I said, with a seconds hesitation he slipped the needle cleanly into my forearm letting the water-like liquid drain from it, after he pulled it out u felt no different.
"It will take a minute to work." he said, but almost immediately after he'd said it I started to feel horribly sick. time for the final goodbye.
Goodbye Static.
No, I hate goodbyes. This is a goodnight.
Okay, whatever you say.
I'll miss you, we all will.
Be happy and make sure that BLI get what's coming too them.
Naturally.
"Right come on, black box." I said as I leaned on the side. Dad looked at me like I was mad, I guess he'd been hoping I'd forget.
"There's nothing I can do to change your mind?" he asked I just shook me head, "but you know what might happen." he almost whined.
"Anything is better than what we live in now." I said, he reluctantly moved his hands about the different screens and buttons until a frown appeared on his face. He repeatedly pressed the same button giving me the impression that it was not working. "what's wrong?" I asked in a weak voice.
"the box, it's not responding." he said. I didn't have time for this I could feel myself slipping but I had to hold on to make sure this was done. If I left before hand Static would stop him.
"Can you fix it?" I asked quickly, I was so out of breath and I could barely stand.
"Not without the right amount of time, the only way to do it now is-" he cut himself off.
"What?" I pressured.
"Manually." he sighed looking at the floor and running his hands through his thick hair. I knew what that meant and I immediately started toward the door. Once in the hallway again I suddenly remembered.
'I wouldn't want to be you if that went off.' that girl Static had spoken too before had warned her about the danger.
"CAITLIN!!" a familiar voice broke me from thought, there he was. Gerard running down the long hallway shouting at me. My eyes went wide and I scrambled inside the Box room as fast as I could and locked the door behind me. I heard him banging on the door but I tried me best to ignore it.
"Let me in, please." I could hear the tears in his voice, I almost cracked but I reminded myself why I was here.
"I can't." I said back through the door.
"please don't leave me." he begged, my heart cracked in half.
"you knew this wasn't forever Gerard." I told him and I heard him sob a little, I didn't notice the tears falling until one landed on my hand.
"I don't care."
"I know, but it's too late, Static is nearly here anyway. there's just one last thing I need to do." I explained softly.
"No. You can't leave, I love too much, I wouldn't be able to live." Gerard said, sighed at his words.
"Yes you can, and you will. For me, live for me Gerard. I love you too okay." I said, I was half slipping down the down by now. I needed to get to the box now.
"Okay." he whispered, so I could just about hear him. I took this as my queue and I moved away from the door.
My knees gave out so I ended up dragging myself to the table, reaching up I pulled the box onto my chest as I lay down I. the floor. Out I'd the corner of my eye I saw Dad watching me with pity. Then I saw the door open and a frail, rare strained Gerard walk in.
With the last if my very scarce strength I yanked the wired from the box and proceed to through it against the wall.
Suddenly a huge explosion was produced, white hit bolts of electricity flying in every direction turning everything it hit a smoky black.
In a weird way it was a beautiful thing to watch, but my eyes weren't on that. As I fell into the blackness my eyes were only looking at one thing.
The most beautiful, amazing, sassy, loving, strong man I had ever met. Gerard. But what made me smile was the last thing I'd thought.
I was so lucky, even though it was just for a small amount of time, to be able to call him mine.
My Gerard.
(A/N: IMPORTANT! PLEASE READ!
Is it mean to leave it there? So Caitlin is gone... I don't think this was very good so I may rewrite it some time.
Are you wanting an epilogue? I can do an epilogue... Okay, so did you all remember the SCARECROW name? yes? Good, because that is very important.
Okay so next book is called Burning Redemption and is extremely recognisable by the cover, which I made myself by the way, I'm very proud of it.
This next bit is a huge hint, so if you don't wanna know, just move on:
*looks around and whispers* this may or may not be the end for Caitlin... but shhhh you don't know a thing.
Okay, BUH BYE!
