We arrived at Harry's dad's restaurant with a fully satisfied Aurora. When we got there, Harry directed me over to a table already filled with people. People I knew from school. There was Liam, Hayley, Chase, Dave and Georgia, Jessica and her new bloke, Simon. Chase and Jessica broke up mid-October after realising they were just too different. There was also a girl I recognised. Someone that I had seen since moving down here, but she used to go to my school. It was...
"BECCA!" I squealed, dumping Aurora in Harry's arms and running towards Becca. What was she doing down here AGAIN! She had been down in the October break, and of course the weeks leading up to her going back to school when her parents were down for a conference, but school was still in session right now. "What are you doing here! Why aren't you at home? How did you get off school?"
"Well, I - I have something to tell you. But it can wait. How's my Godchild?"
Oh, did I forget to mention Becca is Aurora's Godmother? I did? Whoops.
Becca is Aurora's Godmother!
"She's good. Harry's got her. But why are you here! Tell me, babe, please?" I put on the puppy dog eyes that Becca has never been able to resist.
"Fine, I flew down after school to surprise you. But Andrew said something about you getting the chance to come home! So I was afraid I had missed you, but then Chase told me you weren't going anywhere, which confused me, so he said they were all meeting here for food and invited me along and - "
"And how did you get Chase's number?" I asked politely.
"You ain't gonna believe this, babe," she told me and whispered something in my ear.
"No WAY!"
An hour and a half flew by and we were sitting waiting for our deserts. I had a starter of breaded mushrooms with a sour cream dip, and then I had Spaghetti Carbonara for main course. For desert, Harry and I planned to share a large toffee sundae thing that was MASSIVE but tasted delicious! Aurora was in Hayley's arms, and Liam was tickling her gently under her chin. They were being very close and cuddly today but they hadn't revealed to Harry their undying love for each other. I had a sneaking suspicion they were going to do that today. Dave and Georgia were talking to Harry about some teacher that had left school before I had arrived. Chase and Becca were having a snogging session right in front of me.
Becca's secret? She was dating Chase. DATING HIM! Like, a constant. Like, not just a pull. Like, THEY WERE A FUCKING COUPLE! Well, seems the only boy for Becca the player was... Chase the player.
Hmm...
Our deserts arrived and by 'our deserts' I mean the one Harry and I was sharing. The rest of the crew decided they would have the leftovers of our sundae - little did they know Harry and I had stomachs like endless pits and we could eat three quarters of this ice-cream sundae each. Not bragging or anything (I'm totally bragging).
We quickly polished off the sundae and Harry went to talk to his dad about the bill. Harry was trying to see if we could skip on paying. Ha, we're big not paying yobs.
"So when do you plan on telling Harry the truth?" I asked Hayley and Liam.
"Tonight," Hayley whispered. "Will you be there? I'd love you to be there, Abs."
"Duh, I live there now," I laughed. Hayley closed her eyes and shook her head, embarrassed by her forgetfulness.
"Here, Abs," Georgia called across the table, "why did you keep Aurora a secret? Is she the reason you had to move down here?"
"Yeah, the father is a dick and I didn't really ask for Aurora, if you catch my drift."
"Ouch," winced Dave, understanding my meaning quickly. There was nothing left to say about Aurora's dad, so we went on to talk about child birth. I know not a subject I really wanted to talk about when I had just eaten.
