I woke up at ten the next morning and did the usual routine with Aurora. Then I made my way downstairs, following my nose. I smell pancakes and bacon and blueberry muffins. Yummy, my favourite! I also smell homemade rolls that are fresh out the oven and still warm.
I found Hayley standing over a hot stove, flipping pancakes.
"How's he been?" I whispered to her.
"Not said a word," she replied. "Just took my food and said nothing."
I took a seat at the island in the middle of the kitchen and grabbed some food. I let the butter melt into the body of a warm roll and did the same for two blueberry muffins. I drenched my bacon and pancakes in maple syrup and made my way over to the table to sit beside Harry who was already pigging out. He looked at me then turned away, making a 'hmph' noise.
"What? Are you not going to talk to me, either? Are you just going to blank all the girls in this house or something?"
"Aurora," he muttered. He meant he wouldn't ignore Aurora, my baby.
"Nah, mate. If you're blanking me, you ain't going near my daughter." I paused and shoved some roll in my mouth. After swallowing I told Harry, "don't be a dick. Liam and Hayley want your approval. They didn't set out to hurt you, or your feelings. Please, don't be daft about this, Harry!"
"You can't expect me to let my best friend and sister start dating!"
"No, I expect you to accept it, because they're already dating and won't stop just because you want them to. So suck it up and be a real man. Be the man I know you are."
I walked over to Hayley with my empty plate and put it in the dishwasher, winking at her with my tongue in my cheek, smiling in satisfaction.
"Haylz, can I talk to you about... about you and Liam?" I heard Harry ask as I went upstairs for a shower.
Finally, I'm making some headway with that boy. Soon, I'll have him potty trained!

"So, my parents called last night," I said as nonchalantly as possible while I scrolled through my texts on my phone.
"Right," Harry said, focusing on Aurora playing with a toy car. I had been living with Harry for the past two weeks and we were totally settled. Harry had accepted Liam and Hayley being a couple and Becca had to leave England to go back home the Sunday night after the whole of our crew had met Aurora at the restaurant.
"Well, Christmas is coming. So they want me to go home," I explained.
"Okay."
"They've bought my plane ticket."
"Okay."
"It's a family thing."
"Okay."
"I'll be back for Hogmany though."
"Oh - Hogmany? What's that?"
"New Year's Eve."
"Okay."
"I don't want to go."
"Okay."
"But I kind of have to."
"Abi," Harry said.
"Yes?"
"Okay." He sighed loudly and sat beside me. "It's fine, Abs. I understand that your parents want you and Aurora back for Christmas. Just make sure you come home. That's all I ask."
"Okay."
"I'll buy you a ticket back on the twenty-ninth. That way, you spend some time with your family too. When do you leave?"
