The next day, after Frank went home before his mom woke up and saw him gone, Gerard sat at the kitchen table with his usual cup of coffee and comic book in hand.

Frank, however, was at Hailey's house to help her pick out something for her to wear to the movies. Frank was laying on her bed, his legs hanging off the side, and was facing Hailey's direction.

"So who're you going with? "

Hailey stayed facing the closet and Frank laughed. "Who is it?"

Hailey turned and rolled her eyes at Frank. "No one, okay?  Pete is going with us, too. "

"Hold on. Us? "

Hailey grinned. "You, me, Gerard, and Pete. "

Frank signed. "Hay, I never said I'd go. "

"Gerard is going, " She pouted.

Frank blushed and sat up. "What's that got to do with anything? "

Hailey grinned. "Nothing. "

She held up a black flowy dress and said, "Now, what about this? "

Frank looked at it and shrugged and ran a hand through his hair.

"It's okay, " He said slowly. "I'm a dude. I dunno about fashion, " Frank laughed.

Hailey did a very sassy, annoyed pose and gave Frank an annoyed glare.

"I need a new gay friend. "

Frank faked an over exaggerated hurt look. "That was rude. Take it back. "

Hailey grabbed a pillow that was beside Frank and hit him in the shoulder. Which, however, caused the soda Frank had in his hand to spill over his jeans.

"Damn you, " He yelled at the laughing girl who stood beside him.

"Sorry, " Hailey said in an unconvincing voice.

Frank flipped her off. "Lemme borrow a pair of your black jeans."

"What's the magic words, " Hailey taunted him.

"Fuck you. "

Hailey laughed and grabbed a pair of jeans out of her dresser and tossed them to Frank.

"Be gentle. They're my favorite, " Hailey said.

Frank rolled his eyes. "Whatever. Turn around. "

"Just go to the bathroom and change, " Hailey said but Frank was already undoing his jeans so Hailey groaned and turned around and waited for Frank to tell her it was okay to look.

"Done, " Frank said and when Hailey turned around she smiled at him. "They look good on you."

Frank grinned. "I know. "

--------

"When I said for you to start reading, I meant books without pictures. "

Gerard looked up as his mom walked into the kitchen and gave her a smile.

"Comic books have big words. "

"Uh huh, " His mom laughed. "Your friend called. "

Gerard looked up from his comic book. Was it Frank?  What if Frank wanted to hang out? What if-

"It was Hailey, " His mom interrupted his thoughts.

Oh, Gerard thought.

"She wants to know if you want to go to the movies with her and two other guys. Um, Pete and Frank? "

Gerard nodded. "Yeah. Okay. "

His mom smiled and said, " Call her back and tell her, then. "

Gerard sighed and placed his comic book on the table and drained the last sip of coffee from his glass before walking to call Hailey from the house phone.

"Hey, " She answered on the second ring.

"Hey, my mom said you invited me to the movies? "

"Yeah, " Hailey laughed. "If you wanna come, that is. "

Gerard smiled. "Yeah, sounds fun. "

"Okay. We'll pick you up around five, okay? "

"Okay. "

--------

Frank layed back onto Hailey's bed as she got off the phone.

"Your boyfriend agreed to come. "

Frank rolled his eyes. "Gerard isn't a gay. "

Hailey laughed. "He could be bi or pan or something. You have a chance with him. "

Hailey turned around. "You like him! Don't you? "

Frank rolled his eyes. "No! "

Hailey grinned and laughed. "You're blushing, Mr. Iero. "

"Okay, Ms. Asshole. "

Hailey just laughed and went back to doing her makeup. Frank stayed laying down, staring at the ceiling, questioning if he was lying to himself when it came to Gerard.
