Frank couldn't exactly wrap his head around the fact Gerard had cancer. And the way Gerard looked at it, scared Frank.

"I'm gonna die, Frank. There's no point in trying to live. I'm going to die, " Gerard had told Frank as they laid on Frank's bed.

Now, Frank lay on his bed that night without Gerard and wondered if it were a bad thing he met Gerard, but quickly discarded the thought. Yes, he would lose Gerard, but he wanted to love Gerard until the end. He wanted to be the one to change Gerard's look on his coming end.

----

"So you're just giving up, " Frank asked Gerard once Gerard was in his bedroom after school.

Gerard sighed. Why couldn't Frank just drop it, he wondered.

"I dunno, " Gerard mumbled and sat on Frank's bed and looked over at the boy who was looking down at his shoes.

Eventually, they locked eyes and both smiled.

"You do something to me, " Frank said to Gerard as he walked towards him. "You make me smile. Just by seeing your face."

Gerard blushed. "You do, too. "

Frank stood right in front of Gerard and leaned down and kissed his cheek.
"Can I kiss you, " Frank whispered. "Please? "

Gerard looked into Frank's eyes and gave in. Of course Gerard wanted Frank to kiss him. He just didn't want Frank to fall for him. But he was too late and both of the boys knew that.

Gerard was the one to lean forward and press his lips onto Frank's. Frank almost instantly pushed Gerard back onto his bed and climbed on top of him.

"Frank, " Gerard sighed as Frank pulled back to look into Gerard's eyes.

"Your eyes are beautiful, " Frank grinned. "Just like the rest of you."

Gerard blushed and as Frank leaned down once again, his bedroom door swung open and Frank then remembered his brother coming back to visit from college.

"What the fuck! "

Gerard pushed Frank off of him and sat up and looked over at the person who had just walked in. He had Frank's eyes, but had light brown hair rather than Frank's black hair, but the man was obviously Frank's older brother.

"Justin, " Frank smiled harshly, "I didn't know you were coming by. "

Justin glared at Frank and said something that caused both Frank and Gerard to hate him.

"Well, I didn't know you were a faggot. "
----

Later that day, when Gerard had left and Frank's parents and brother and himself were seated at the dinner table eating, Frank knew Justin would try to make Frank's life a living hell. Just like old times, right?

"So Justin, " Frank mom smiled at her eldest son, " How have you been, sweetheart? "

Justin smiled back. "I've been okay."

There was a moment of silence as Justin looked across the table at Frank and grinned.

"Hey, Mom, " Justin said, looking away from Frank, " Did you know Frank is a faggot? "

That's when Frank froze as both his parents looked at him in horror. Saying they were shocked was an understatement. Frank was raised in an Christian household. He was supposed to be "normal".

"Frank, " His mom said slowly. "Is this true? "

Frank bit his lip and nodded. "Mom, look..."

To cut out all of the screaming and arguing, let's just say that Frank was kicked out of the house and that left him two options: He could stay with Hailey, or he could stay with Gerard. I think you can guess which he chose.

----

Gerard was about to go to bed when he heard a faint tap at the window. A moment later, Gerard helped Frank into his bedroom and Gerard had definitely noted the bag Frank was carrying with him.

"Are you running away, " Gerard asked Frank once they sat on his bed.

Frank shook his head. "Justin told my parents about me being
gay. "

Gerard gave him a hug. "They kicked you out? "

Frank nuzzled his face into Gerard's neck and nodded. "Yeah."

After a moment of just holding onto each other, Gerard said, " I'm sorry your parents are assholes. "

Frank just laughed. "Yeah, I am too, Gee. "

Gerard pulled back and looked over at Frank. He didn't notice it before, but it was completely obvious now. Frank was broken. He was a mess. He was hurt. But Gerard wanted to fix him. He would. He had to.

"Hey, Gee, " Frank looked up at Gerard through his fringe. "Does your mom know? "

Gerard nodded. "She came to accept me. "

Frank sighed and rested his head on Gerard's shoulder. "Okay. "

Gerard sighed. "My mom might let you stay if we tell her what's going on. "

Frank looked at Gerard skeptically. "Then your mom would be fuckin' awesome. "
