Next week on Tuesday, India was changing clothes in the girls locker room. They had a pretty hard day in her dance class and India was ready for some lunch. She placed her green shirt on and grabbed her book bag when Jaden and Regina rushed past her. They wore a devilish smile while snickering amongst themselves.

Jaden dashed behind a wall with Regina right behind her. She whipped out her cell phone, appearing to be using her camera. “Oh my God, Look…” Jaden grinned.

“Eww,” Regina chuckled. India looked to see what or whom they were recording and saw a girl name Courtney getting dressed. Now Courtney wasn’t the prettiest of females, which was why they were recording her. She was short, overweight, and had bad skin, but she was very friendly and didn’t bother anyone. India clenched her teeth as Jaden continued to film Courtney unnoticed.

“Com’ on. Take it off porky,” Jaden commented, making Regina laugh.

“Look, here it comes!” Regina exclaimed.

“God I can’t wait to put this online…” Jaden’s perfect view got blocked because someone stood directly in front of her camera; it was India. “What the hell? Um, can you move?” Jaden said. She looked up and saw India. “Oh great, what do you want?”

“What are ya’ll doing?” India asked, folding her arms.

“Nothing that concerns you,” Jaden snapped.

Regina stepped in India’s face. “Yea, so go run along, lil girl.” She agreed.

India shook her head in sheer disgust. “You two are sick,” she retorted, walking away.

“Bye bitch,” Jaden taunted, dapping her friend up.

“Oh that’s funny,” Regina chuckled. When they looked back at India, the smile dropped off their faces. India was standing next to Courtney, clearly informing her what they were doing. Jaden placed her phone away, gritting her teeth while she stared at India.

“Ugh, I can’t stand that ho…” Jaden growled.

“I know right, we need to teach her a lesson,” Regina nodded. “Show her what’s what.”

“Yea… I’ll think of something,” Jaden said, stilling eyeing India down.

“Why would they do that?” Courtney asked, walking with India out of the locker-room.

“Because their ‘them’,” India explained. “I’ve known those two since grade school, and they’ve always been like that.” She held the door open for Courtney as they entered the hallway. India spotted Trevor leaning against the wall waiting for her. “Well, I guess I’ll see you tomorrow.”

“Ight, bye India,” Courtney waved. India smiled brightly when she saw Trevor and embraced him in a tight hug. Jaden and Regina came into the hallway shortly after and saw the two. They openly whispered in front of Trevor and India, glancing back at them to make sure they knew they were being talked about.

Trevor raised an eyebrow, slightly confused. “What was that all about?” he wondered.

“Jealously,” India joked. Trevor shrugged his shoulders and led India down the hall. “So…”

“India!” a voice called out from behind them. They turned around and saw Robin, Ashley, and several of India’s other friends heading their way. “Wait up,” Robin jogged to her friend, and fanned her self off like she just ran a long distance. “Dang girl, why you walk so fast?”

            “I don’t,” India laughed.

“You coming to lunch with us?” Robin asked, crossing her fingers.

India glanced at Trevor who shrugged his shoulders. “I guess. Trev you coming?”

“Naw, ya’ll go head and gon’. I’ll catch up with ya lata,” He answered. India placed her hand on his arm.

“You sure?” She looked at him as he nodded his head. “Okay, I’ll call you tonight.” India leaned in and pecked Trevor on the cheek with her lips. Robin and her friends were shocked.  After watching Trevor walk away, India turned around and noticed her friends were staring at her. “What?”

“Oh lord, I knew it,” Robin stated, leading the group down the hallway.

“Whaaat??” India repeated, shrugging her shoulders.

“See, I knew you was gon hook up with that boy,” Robin said. She seemed a little disappointed.

“Were not together. We’re just getting to know each other,” India explained.

“Could have fooled me. All up on that nigga like Cheese on bread,”

“Okay, so what if I like him?” India defended. “Trevor’s nice, he likes me for me, and he’s cool.” The group exited the school building and entered the parking lot to find their cars.

“I hope so,” Robin snapped. “Cause he sure aint cute.”

“Would you give him a break, Trevor’s not that bad.”

“Not that bad? What’s that suppose to be mean?” Robin argued, she spotted her car and headed to it. “Honestly, I’m disappointed in you. How you gon’ put that ‘boy’ before James?”

            “Mhmm,” Brittney nodded.

India rolled her eyes; mad her friends were grilling her like this. “Look, would ya’ll get off me. If I wanna talk to somebody, imma talk to em. No matter how ya’ll or anybody else feel,” India replied. Her friend knew she was serious because her English was improper, and that usually meant she was getting irritated.

“Alright…” Robin said, clearly giving up the debate. “But imma be real with you. Until I see fit, I don’t like him.” The others nodded in agreement.

“Well that’s too bad, because until I see fit, I like him.” India stated, getting in the passenger seat of her friend’s car. Robin sighed and got behind the wheel, pulling out of the parking lot.
