she thought she was afraid of heights
she met him when she was high
he took the lows
and drove her home
and she was drunk on his words
she thought she was afraid of flying
he promised to give her wings
so she could fly
so she could build a castle on the moon
but he forgot
promise? promise?
she was afraid of heights
but he didn't
he elevated her
to the highest altitude
of cloud nine
and bungee-jumped
but she didn't
she was afraid of flying
but he didn't
he lifted her up
to swim in tidal waves
of gravity
he promised to catch her,
but he forgot.
she wasn't afraid of heights,
she was afraid of lies.
she wasn't afraid of flying,
she was afraid of falling.
