there you were, in silver tux
with the tinkling sound of chandelier
casting furtive glances all over the room
why were you so nervous?
didn't you know how captivating you were?
synchronicity arose, our eyes met
the lights turned down low,
i said hello,
and got lost in your glow.
glass by glass of wine, you smiled so divine
we talked about California and LA,
your childhood memories in Norway,
Doomsday and swordplay.
so i asked you out for some coffee on Monday,
24 chicken McNuggets on Tuesday,
or cheap vodka on Friday,
or, for goodness' sake, whatever.
i could go wherever and whenever.
the way your laugh gleamed,
and your charming beam
sorry, but i couldn't resist.
mint and smoke from your charred lips,
they called me.
so i leaned in,
wanted to come in,
but you rejected me.
we could've been laying entwined on the crescent moon,
but maybe... just maybe,
you weren't gay.
