Chapter 16
'Yeah it was. Because you are different. Different from everyone else, different from Calypso.' I think but the only word that come out of my mouth is yeah. She offers her hand to help me get up and I hand her the bracelets, now knowing why I made them. "Here I made these for you. They turn into knives. I thought that you could use some newer ones."
Her eyes widen in awe of the knives. She puts the bracelets and they fit her perfectly. Calista walks over to the targets and whips a bracelet off and as it changes she sends it spiraling toward a target. The knife sails through the air perfectly and hits the target in the bullseye. My gaze stays on the target and the bracelet. From behind I feel arms wrap around me. "Thank you so much! I love them!"
Calista unwraps her arms from me and we awkwardly stand there. "Thanks." She says backing away.
"You're welcome!" I call out after her. The crowd around us has diminished in size now and is almost gone. But a hand grabs my throat and pulls me into a space where nobody is. "Leo what do you think you were doing?" Percy's hard voice scolds. "That is my sister and in case you didn't notice you were on fire! While battling her! You could have killed her or hurt her if she wasn't a daughter of Poseidon!"
"I'm sorry Percy! I didn't know what was happening. I kind of just went into battle mode with her. She is a really good fighter and I would never try to hurt her! I learned my lesson with Calypso."
Percy's gaze softens and he nods in understanding. "Sorry I lashed out at you. It's just I get back from this huge battle and I haven't seen her in about two years and there are you guys surrounded by smoke. I just couldn't lose her."
"Hey I understand man!"
"She's really happy with the knives. Thanks for making them for her. Is that why you were watching her yesterday?"
"You saw that? Yeah I guess that's why I made them." Percy nodded and left me wondering what has happened since I got back.
