Narrator's POV
They say the ties that bind people together are impossible to explain. That's exactly how Emily felt. She couldn't explain why she felt connected to Alison so much. Sure they have history and their pasts are similar but that was too easy. Emily knew she loved Alison and Alison knew she loved Emily. That was that.
It's been three months since the night the brunette proposed to Alison. And also three months since they've agreed to put up with each other for possibly the rest of their lives. Everything was sailing smoothly so far. They both just hoped it'd stay that way all the way up into the wedding.
Both women figured in order to do their share in paying for their own wedding, they'd need to maintain jobs. Instead of staying in New York and applying for jobs there, Alison really wanted to get back to her roots and return to their hometown. Emily secretly opposed but she couldn't deny her soon to be wife. So when they arrived back in Rosewood, that's when they sat down together and applied for jobs. The blonde haired girl worked as a part time English teacher at the school whereas Emily worked as assistant swim coach of the Sharks. They were able to see each other a few times during the day since they worked the same hours, Emily's being a little longer.
Instead of going straight home that day, Alison decided to drop in on her fiancé, yes fiancé and watch her work. The blonde haired girl placed her purse onto her shoulder before exiting the classroom heading down the corridor.
Alison: Hey babe are you at the pool?
5:34pmEmily: In my office. Why what's wrong?
5:35pmAlison: Nothing I just wanted to check in before I headed home.
5:35pmEmily: Well the door's open. Especially for u.
5:37pmAlison rolled her eyes and couldn't help the smile that crept onto her face. Once she approached Emily's office, she peeked through the window to see her staring at a bunch of papers with a stressed out expression. Before completely walking in, Alison knocked softly which broke the other girl away from her work.
"Hi", Emily smiled before standing up to engulf her into a hug. Alison wrapped her arms around the taller girls neck before leaning up to kiss her on the lips. "It's been hours."
"I know. We had a lot of work to do today", Emily told her with a sigh.
Alison nodded in understanding. "Is the team getting any better?"
