Never forget

Chapter Fourteen

Later that morning, I received a note off of some cloth stating the place we were to battle. Where it came from or who sent it is still a mystery.

As I stared at the note I could tell I was in shock....I couldn't move...I couldn't speak....I felt so lifeless.

" Kagome! Hello?"

I glance up at him with a terrified look. He glances at the note and looks at me with the same eyes.

I sigh. " It's time......I better say my goodbyes."

As I go to leave he stops me by the shoulder. I glance up at him  confused.

" Let me just get a good look of you."

I smile at him softly. " Don't worry, I'll be back. Just you wait."

He smirks and follows me out of the hut. I slip on Songos demon slayer suit and secured my sword onto my waist.

As everyone look sad and nervous for me all I could do was put on a brave face.

" Hey! what's with all the sad faces? I'm coming back, remember?"

Everyone smiles half- heartily. I look at everyone and nod. " well, I-I guess this is it.......until we meet again."

As songo starts to shed silent tears she grabs onto my arm and mouths be safe. I nod to Miroku and he does the same. Quickly Kaede came running up to me and handed me a red ribbon.

" This is to let us know the outcome." her old hands shake as she hands me the ribbon.

I suddenly felt the tears coming so I bit back the tears. Grabbing onto Kirara, Inuyasha rode on the back with me towards the destination.

I glanced at the note again. Go to unmei no yama at sunrise.

My heart starts to pick up but I had to force myself to calm down otherwise my soul wouldn't activate properly. As we reached the grounds I jumped off of Kirara, Inuyasha does the same but I turned around to look at him.

" Inuyasha, I know what your thinking....but You can't be here."

" What!"

" If you try to interfere you might get hurt....and besides, this is my fight.....so please..." I made fists and started to get teary. Choking on my words. " JUST GET OUT OF HERE AND DON'T COME BACK!"

" You idiot! I'm not going to leave you! Why can't you understand that!"

" And why can't you understand that I can handle this!....." I stare at the ground furiously hurt. " Inuyasha there are just sometimes when you won't be able to save me, you won't be able to fight all my battles....and this is one of them. So Please just go......I DON'T WANT YOU HERE!"

He stares at me through his bangs before huffing, as he climbs onto Kirara. He turns her then looks down at me with tears in his eyes. " You idiot! you better make it out alive or I'll find her and kill her! understand!"  his voice breaks at the end.

Tears start to feel up in my eyes. " I know. I promise, Inu...Yasha."

Once he's left and out of the clear, Ema appears out of nowhere. I stare at her with my heart caught in my throat.....she's has so much evil radiating off of her body that its almost making me physically ill. I grip my sword and pull it out slowly and begin to focus my energy on the sword.

" It's finally time! You have no idea how impatient I've been to get my hands on you!"

I glare at her, trying to hide my fear of her. If there's one thing I know, its not showing weakness in front of your enemy. It's something Inuyasha has taught me.
