Never forget

Chapter Nine

After getting on my jeans and shirt everyone including Inuyasha were surprised. To them, it was so odd that they didn't really take it well.   

" Anyways enough of staring at my clothes, what's happened since I was gone?"  

I stare at everyone who was so eager to tell.

Songo and Miroku cleared their throats. " Well as you can see, we got married and ended up having two cute twin girls and an adorable baby boy.

I smile softly. " Yes. And congratulations." I looked to Kaede. " what about shippo?"

Kaede stares at me smiling. " You see when you disappeared Shippo pledged that he wouldn't come back until he was a full-fledged fox demon, in ye's honor of course."

I glanced down at my hands a little somberly. "Oh. I see."

" Are you okay Kagome? You seem a little down." Miroku said.

I glance up at him with a poker face smile.......I figured out how to do it so I wouldn't worry my dad or Emma... " Heh. Yeah, I must be tired....." I stand up brushing off my pants and slipping on my vans. " I think I'll just get some fresh air okay?"

" Kagome....are you sure?" Inuyasha says already standing up.

I look over my shoulder to meet Inuyasha's gold eyes that stare at me with concern. Those eyes started to get to me, quickly I smiled and waved before walking out the door.

" I wonder what's going on with Kagome?" Songo asked out loud.

Miroku strokes his chin. " Could it be that she's upset over Emma running off?"

Kaede starts to pick up the bowls. " That could be the problem. But she could also feel as though she's a stranger."

Inuyasha glances at Kaede with a raised eyebrow. " And what's that supposed to mean?"

Songo stands up holding the sleeping baby in her arms. " Inuyasha, Kaede does have a point. I mean she's been gone for three years....hearing how much things changed is probably a huge shock to her."

Inuyasha stares out the door watching Kagome sit against a giant tree. His thoughts started to intertwine. I can sense that she's worried about something...so what could I...

Inuyasha's ears go up as he thinks of an idea. Quickly he leaves the village to search for some people.

I gaze up at the sky running a hand through my thick black raven hair.

"Kikyo, I wish you could give me some strength......I just really don't think-" I glance up at the sky staring at all the million stars that shine from the sky.

Its true I do feel like a complete stranger.......its like I'm almost having deja vu.

As I start to doze off I started to relax. Then someone was calling my name.

Kagome.........Kagome..........Kagome..... 

I opened my eyes slightly to see a ball of light floating in front of me. I stared at it, trying to poke it, that's when it spoke to me.

" You seem very unsure of yourself Kagome. Which is definitely not like you at all."

I stared at the glowing object a little scared. " Hey! h-how do you know my name?"

The glowing ball glistens in the darkness. " Because I'm Kikyo."

I could almost imagine my brain is fried from all the thoughts that were racing in my head, trying to price everything together.
