Never forget

Chapter Eight

After running for a while we finally stopped by a river drinking really quick while trying to catch our breath. The tears were gone but my heart still hurts. I've never forced myself to ignore Inuyasha like that. 

Emma finally relaxed stares at me a little worried. Stretching her legs she starts to speak.

" So that's the guy you were in love with?"

I nod slowly as I stretched.

She raises an eyebrow and points back where we ran. " You were in love with that?......but he's such an ass!"

I nod starting to smirk. "Yeah. Well, he may be mean and insensitive sometimes, but he really does care....he only gets like that half the time."

Emma pulls her legs into her chest. " So are you going to talk to him?"

I shake my head and I put my feet into the water.

" What? but you told me you missed him!" she counteracted.

I nodded my head. " yes. But I'm more worried about us getting home."

Emma stands up and puts her hands on her hips. " Okay, that's it. Listen here, Missy! your finally back and you have the chance to talk to the person you truly love! and your answer is you want to leave?"

I stand up and walk up to Emma. " Yes! I am saying that!"

" And what's the reason for it?"

" Because! how on earth could Inuyasha possibly understand what happened to me! He just wouldn't understand that I'm ruined!"

Emma folds her arms and stares past me, watching Inuyasha who stands there breathing heavily with tessaiga unsheathed. Staring at me pissed off.

" Tell me.......tell me Kagome! what couldn't I understand?!" he places the sword back in its sheath and walks towards me.

" I-Inuyasha! how long were you standing there!"

" Long enough to here this." he grabs me by the shoulders, I glance up at him and begin to shake. A habit I've had a hard time breaking.

" K-Kagome....your shaking! why are you shaking!?"

I pull out of his grasp and cradle myself looking at the water. " I don't have to say anything to you Inuyasha. You'll just get upset."

He walks a little closer. " And why would I get upset?"  He kneels down next to me and stares.

" Kagome......Did I do something to make you upset? did I say something I should'nt of?" he starts to stare softly at me with his golden eyes.

I turn my head towards him with a sad look on my face. " I-Inuyasha, It wasn't you......it's what happened to me a year ago......I-I was.....was kidnapped by a bunch of men...."

Inuyasha stares at me wide eyed, slowly lowering himself to the ground. I glanced back and saw Emma smile at me, basically saying it would be alright.

" When I was kidnapped they did awful things to me, beat me up and handled me roughly.....and then the b-.....the b-....."

I couldn't say it. I just kept stuttering. That's when Emma intervened since I told her my story she knows the entire thing.

" The boss tried to force himself onto her, and when Kagome fought back he kicked her and fractured a rib bone......." I nodded at her and took care of it from there.

" And the worst part of all.......when I was down he tied me to his bed and grabbed a blade and......" I started to cry and feel a little bit of pain...." H-He carved the words Never forget on my back......now it's really bad scar wounds that are still healing........Inuyasha, I couldn't talk to you because I was afraid of what you were going to think if you saw me this way."
