On the outskirts of London laid a place called Epping. Where many witches and people would live due to the vast amount of land and vegetation.
Epping was well known for its beautiful forest, and for its witches. Noble men would travel from afar lands just to slay one of the famous Epping witches. The most famous witch family were the Mundrake's. Said to be related to the very first witches, the blood line was pure and any child born of Mundrake blood would grow to be a fine witch.
Petronilla was born November 5th 1875. Her mother,Janet, was of the Mundrake family line, whilst her father was said to of been a noble man who was sent out to murder the witches of Epping. He had traveled from London with a man who's name was unknown but went by Earl Trancy. The noble man never told her mother of his name only that he was meant to kill her. Janet pleaded the noble man for her life, she begged him telling him she would do anything for him. The noble man looked upon the young women, he knew she didn't want to die therefore took the opportunity. "As you said you would do anything to stay alive I want you to have my child. I will be killed after this mission as I am no longer of any use to my master. I will spare you as long as you are willing to bare my child." Janet agreed to have the mans child knowing that this could possibly be her last hope.
Janet hid in the forest watching as the noble man ran off back to his master. She watched through the trees looking at her once peaceful village which was being torn of life.
Once the men had finished killing all the people they wanted to kill they left, riding off on horse back. Janet rushed back to the place she called home. Looking around she saw many dead bodies, old and young. Scared her family was dead she ran to a hut with a straw roof and wooden walls. Slowly she entered the house looking around the rooms hoping for the best. Sadly she was wrong, as she walked in she saw her mother hanging from the ceiling, her sister was laying slumped against the wall with her wrists and ankles bounded together. She had been stoned to death alike many other people that day. Tears streamed down her face knowing that all her family was dead. She walked out knowing that she might be the only person alive, as she looked around the village she spotted Georgina the village elder. She soon spotted many over witches come out from hiding.
By the time the baby was born the village had been transformed back to the village it once was before the attack. Janet knowing fall well that witch hunting season was to arrive very soon, she hid her baby with Georgina knowing she would survive with her. As she thought within a couple of days many men arrived. This time they wanted all dead, they set everything on fire and slaughtered every living being. Janet prayed that her baby survived praying that no harm would be done to her. She prayed saying 'Take me not her. Kill me not my baby.' Over and over she would say in her mind. Soon a man came up to her, grabbing her by the wrist he dragged her over to a pile of wood. Janet knew what was to happen to her. She knew she would be burnt to death alike many other witches had been. They tied her to a large plank of wood, doused her in a liquid that would help the fire engulf her. As soon as the fire was lit the men left, leaving everything alight and all the bodies sprawled across the once beautiful and calm town.
The only people who lived were the witches who had the power to transform into any other object. Georgina had survived using a spell to turn her and the baby invisible in which she stood watching her fellow townsfolk be burnt alive, hung, stoned or even shot down. All together only 9 people survived the attack, 3 of them weren't witches whilst the other 6 were. Georgina used a spell to douse the village in water to put out all the fire. 3 of the surviving witches were Gunkas, who had the special talent to heal the wounded and create healing potions. They also were great at cooking, most well known chefs actually were witches in disguise. Georgina and one other witch were a type of witch called Demanors. Demanor witches are the strongest known kind of witches, they have the strength of a bear and power of a wolf. They learn spells and potions much faster than many other witches. They can use powers that no other witches can use and are also capable of conjuring charm and curses which many witches cannot conjure up.That then leaves one more witch, the young baby who had not yet had her type sorted was laying in the arms of Georgina.
It took 8 years for the 9 people to bring the village back to life. Once life restored the village Georgina built a safety barrier around the village to keep any non witches out. Whilst for the baby the whole village had adopted her, they had named her Petronilla.
