Chapter 1

I looked down at the USB  drive in my hand. “ here goes nothing “ i think to mysel looking to the building in front of me. The sign reads Modest managment , “ i hope they like this demo i recorded” . i push all the anxiety and fear to the back of my mind and walk through the glass doors. I walk up to the desk and signed in . “ Ms. winchester “ the secretary called out . I stood up “ yes thats me “ the woman motioned for me to follow her and walked me to an office and opened the door .i walked in the door and was greeted by a middle aged man with a file in his hand . “ Ms.Winchester its nice to meet you “ he shakes my hand and i sit in the chair behind me. “ So what did you want to speak with me about “ Mr.Roman asks me . “ I have a few cover songs i recorded and i was hoping you would listen to them “ .  I place the flash drive on the desk . He picks up the drive and puts it into the computer and he begins to play the cover of carry on my wayward son that i had recorded . “ you have an amazing voice , i believe that you could have a very sucessful career ahead of you” . He tells me this with full sincerity . “ thank you so much , i have tried so hard to find someone who will actually listen to it , they usually just tell me sorry and give it back “ I say with a small chuckle . “ have you ever heard of  5 Seconds of summer “ he asks me . “yes i have i really like their music it’s incredible “ .

“ well i have good news and great news for you , the good news is that you have a job , the great news is that i can also offer you a second job as well “ he tells me this . “ well what is the second job “ i ask him . “ i would like you to be calums girlfriend but its just for publicity , he can be pretty rude sometimes so i will let you know that you will be getting paid . “ he says “ this will involve you signing a one year contract if your interested then i can print the contract now all you have to do is sign it “ he continues . “ i would like to se the contract “ ii tell him . he looks at me and smiles “ now thats what i like to hear “ . he hands me the contract and i begin to read it “ oh you dont have to read it “ . “ sir my brother went to law school and idprefer not to sign anything befor i read it “ i tell him . he nods and leans back in his chair I pick up the pen next to me and sign the contract “ I would like to get a copy of the contract before i leave “ .  i say to him “ we dont give copies to anyone im sorry “ he tells me

“ actually sir you are required by law to provide me with a copy for my own personal files “ he looks at me with complete shock . he places the paper in the copier
