Taehyung had nearly tripped over the corpse that laid below him. He took a few glances up at the man before quickly crouching down to consume as much of the ghoul's remnants as possible all the while avoiding to throw up from the disgusting after taste through every bite. Once he felt satisfied, which was a complete lie saying that he was nowhere near satisfied, Taehyung caught their attention as he wiped his mouth of the fresh blood. As they started to slowly turn to face him, Taehyung had already acted, charging towards him with a familiar feeling of skin tearing and red scales emerging from within. The quick attack had successfully grazed the man's cheek, but otherwise Taehyung ended up dashing past him as they soon caught up.

From the corner of the warehouse Jungkook could only spectate as his eyes tried to keep up with the rapid movements of red on violet, violet on red, and so forth. Each time he would see Taehyung get injured, he would wince and panic almost as if he were in the same position, whereas every time the other ghoul would get struck it was like a breath of relief knowing that that was one hit closer to their downfall. Entranced by the fight, Jungkook didn't notice a piece of metal debris fly his way until he felt a short gust of wind fly past his head as it was followed by the sharp sound of glass breaking from behind, causing him to gasp and turn to face the noise. Looking down at the glass shards he quickly picked up a shard and began cutting his binds, being careful as to not cut his hand. Just a little longer V, just hang in a little longer. I swear I'll cut myself loose and help you. Please don't let me be too late.

Taehyung could feel his head start to spin at the feeling of losing too much blood. Seeing that he was gradually losing speed in his movements, Taehyung couldn't keep up and eventually found himself becoming a punching bag being beat and tossed around. Now laying on the floor heaving, he watched as the man having also been fatigued by their lengthy combat and injuries both shallow and deep was also struggling to stay up as well. Before Taehyung could say anything, he saw the ghoul already making their way to Jungkook who seemed to be occupied with something before looking up for a second then frantically continuing what it was while yelling at the ghoul to back off. Biting back the ache in his limbs tempting him to stay down, he tried regaining the ghoul's attention but failed seeing that they weren't going to allow being interrupted from their long-awaited meal. Once the ghoul had finally reached Jungkook he grabbed the back of the boy's shirt collar, practically choking him as he dragged him so that they were directly in front of Taehyung. Wrapping a bloodied hand around Jungkook's throat, he began squeezing, enjoying the sound of the boy choking and Taehyung screaming for him to leave the younger alone.

Taehyung wasn't really one to believe in miracles or the thought that miracles can come unexpectedly and save your life. Even though he allowed himself just once to try and believe it, even now, he knew nothing would happen. Miracles simply don't exist, that's the reality of it, this he knew too well. That was why instead of relying on a miracle, he would be the one to instigate the outcome.

Slowly, Taehyung rose. Although he knew that there was a slim chance that he would be able to defeat the man, he decided to take his chances and rely on that small possibility, having it as encouragement to pour every ounce of energy left in his being to inflict as much damage as possible even if it meant almost killing himself in the process. As long as Jungkook is safe and alive- even if I die, I will know I have done my part. This said, Taehyung charged one last time towards the ghoul, putting every and all his energy into each hit.

Having taken aback by Taehyung's force, the ghoul had been thrown and collided with a stack of metal debris, causing him to struggle in getting up from all the weight of the metal pinning him down. The boy had already reached him by the time they got back up, and by then a red scale had speared their chest, running straight through and erecting from behind.

It was the latter's turn to cough up blood as he saw a flash of red before feeling a swirl run through him. Trying to pry Taehyung away, he placed a hand on his face pushing back but was swatted away, having grabbed by the wrist and viciously twisted. Latching onto their collar, he threw the ghoul toward the center, grimacing in disgust at the trail of blood that followed suit their body.

Jungkook could only watch in horror at the sight of Taehyung losing control of his actions and practically almost going insane with how many times he struck the ghoul. To the younger boy, Taehyung's constant blows didn't seem to be in means of trying to kill them, but instead compensation for having him undergo the pain inflicted while he was bound. Should I do something? What would happen to V if he were to lose his sanity? Will he be able to come down from his high? Will he even be able to? As the questions kept accumulating, Jungkook took a second to avert his attention back up to Taehyung, his heart freezing once he witnessed what the boy was doing.

"V-V...no..."

Taehyung could feel his conscious slowly slipping away into the depths of his seemingly crumbling mind. No longer could he feel himself attacking the other ghoul, but rather spectating the whole scene. The feeling of his kagune impaling each limb was gone. But, it felt amazing. The sight of them being on the receiving end of the fight and coming closer and closer to collapsing- the knowing that all the damage being afflicted was by HIS hands, felt so, so good. Taehyung wanted more, the number of successful hits wasn't nearly close enough to what he felt, and damn certain did they deserve more. More, more, more, more, this scum deserves more! Thirty...forty...fifty...open your eyes! Don't you dare die on me, not yet! I said open your fucking eyes! Taehyung looked down to see a barely conscious and badly beaten man lying heaving on the pavement, drastically bloodied and seeming like he could die at any second. Ever so slowly, Taehyung crouched down to where he was directly on top of the man, flashing him an innocent yet sinister smile before tearing a large chuck off the center of his neck and consuming the flesh. He continued to feast while they were still alive, marveling in the blood-curling screams before they eventually died down and the only sound emitting in the warehouse was the mushing of flesh between teeth; the feeling of nourishment and relief overruling the ass-like taste of ghoul's flesh. Feels good, feels good, feels good, feels...f-feels...g-good? As Taehyung began to regain his composure, the outline of a familiar face gradually assembled in his head; the face of a young boy, and a close one at that.

Jungkook!

Staring down at his hands now stained with warm blood and residue from the corpse below, his shallow breaths turned into frantic gasps for air. The leftover taste left in his mouth had sickened him, causing him to throw up next to the body, wiping his mouth and almost having fallen into it after. Feeling a stinging in his eyes followed by little trickles of tears streaming down his cheeks, Taehyung looked around for the boy, turning around and finally coming face-to-face with him.

"Jungkook..." he smiled, beginning to cautiously crawl towards the now trembling figure. "Thank god, thank god you're okay..."

Jungkook could only watch in terror as the now conscious Taehyung started inching towards him, the only color filling his vision being red. His throat began to become sore from the scream he was trying to suppress, already aching so to be let out.

Soon enough Taehyung had finally approached Jungkook, placing his hand on the other's cheek struggling to keep his posture.

"You're safe now, Jungkook. You're going to be okay, he's not going to hurt you anymore. I'm so glad you're okay, I'm, I'm..."

Taehyung collapsed onto Jungkook's lap, shutting down just in time before the other could scream out his name.

Sweet silence.
