Chapter 6

"Well, good luck in your battle Ash! I know you'll do great!" Avi smiles.

Ash and Avi were set to have their battles at the same time but at two different battlefields. They were sad they couldn't watch each other fight, but it got them pumped at the idea of them battling later.

"You too Avi, I know you'll kick butt!"

"Pika Pika!" Pikachu cheered.

"If we finish early, lets be sure to run over and try to catch the other's fight!" Avi said.

"Of course!" Ash replied, then they both took off to their battles.

Ash was paired up against a trainer that looked nervous but determined to do his best, and that's what Ash respected the most.

The kid called out for his Ivysaur and Ash called for Noctowl.

"A-alright Ivysaur, use bullet seed!" the kid commanded. Ivysaur obeyed, landing some blows on Noctowl but not doing much damage.

"Peck!" Ash commanded. Noctowl dived in and hit Ivysaur, doing some decent damage.

The kid started to panic, Ash noticed and stepped up, "Don't panic when your Pokemon get hurt, they sense your feelings and they'll panic as well since you're the one in control here of what they do," Ash comforts, "be confident and they'll pull through!"

"Y-you're right..." the kid smiles a bit, suddenly his confidence going up higher, "Alright Ivysaur, vine whip! Just how we practiced!" he said confidently. Ivysaur released his vine whips and caught Noctowl, then launching her down to the ground.

Noctowl gets some good damage, but flies straight up high into the air.

"I'll admit that was impressive, but not enough to bring us down!" Ash exclaims, getting more excited, "Noctowl, sky attack!" Noctowl comes down fast and her wings glow, showing to build up power as she comes down.

"Jump!" the kid exclaims right when Noctowl is in range Ivysaur jumps into the air, but Noctowl reacted fast and pulled up to directly hit Ivysaur. Ivysaur went flying and fainted once he hit the ground.

"Ivysaur is unable to battle, winner is Noctowl!" the referee announced. Ash cheered along with the crowd and Noctowl flapped her wings in delight. The kid returned Ivysaur to his Poke Ball then grabs another one. "Okay, let's try you!" he said, throwing the ball to call his next Pokemon.

Out came Dewott, looking ready to put up a fight.

"Alright Noctowl, extrasensory!" Ash exclaims. Noctowl attacks, but Dewott dodges with ease.

"Ice beam!" the kid yells. Dewott shoots out an ice beam and freezes Noctowl's wings, making her land hard on the ground and immobile. She struggled to free herself and the kid took the opening, "Finish with razor shell!" Dewott grabbed both shells on his sides and attacked, knocking out Noctowl.

"Noctowl is unable to battle, Dewott is the winner!" the crowd cheered and the kid excitedly went to hug Dewott, "That was amazing!"

The battle went on and Ash won using only three Pokemon out of six. He checked the next stadium and Avi's battle was long done.

"Ash!" he heard a voice exclaim, he turns around and Avi is there with Delia, Bella, and Professor Oak. She runs over and hugs him, "Congrats on your win!"

He blushes and hugs back, "You too!" he cheers on.

"You deserve a reward! We'll all go out to eat tonight at the new restaurant on the other side of town, my treat!" Oak says happily.

"Wow, thanks professor!" Ash replies.

"Thank you professor, you really are quite the gentleman!" Bella smiles. Oak blushes in embarrassment, "It's my pleasure! Seeing Ash and other trainers grow and succeed is always a pleasure to watch, especially when I gave them their first Pokemon!" he says while rubbing the back of his head.

"You gave Avi a Pokemon as well???" Ash asks in shock.

Avi nods, "He called me up after our battle and got this cutie for me!" she gets out a Pokeball and releases the Pokemon inside, revealing it to be a Dratini.

"Whoa, a Dratini!" Ash exclaimed, "Where did you find it, Professor???" Ash asked in awe. Dratini gets startled from Ash's outburst and hides behind Avi.

"I'm sorry..!" Ash apologizes, lowering his voice and realizing his mistake.

"It's alright Ash," Avi says quietly, petting Dratini. "She's just timid... Not used to others yet" she giggles.

Dratini lets out a small silent cry with her tail wiggling in the air, signaling a 'hello'. Pikachu hops onto Ash's shoulder and hands, holding on to his hat and raises his hand, "Pika Pika!" he says happily. Dratini lets out a cry in delight, and Avi smiles, "Looks like Dratini likes Pikachu!" she giggles.

"Dratini's egg was actually abandoned by the lake not too far from your house, Ash," Professor Oak started, "Avi found it and brought it to me to check to see if it was still alive and well. As you see it was, and unfortunately I can't care for it at the moment so Avi volunteered to do so! She stayed in the lab with me keeping the egg warm with Delphox and next thing you know she hatched right there! She saw Avi and figured she was her mother, there's no way I can tear them apart so Dratini was her welcome present to Kanto from me."

"Sounds just like something Avi would do," Bella smiles.

Dratini then rubs her cheek against Avi's and she laughs, hugging Dratini. "She's been so attached to me, it's heartwarming!"

Ash smiles big, admiring how Avi loves Pokemon so much and how they love her as well. He starts daydreaming about being able to adventure with Avi to different regions, then is snapped back to reality by her hand waving in front of his face.

"Ash!" she shouts while giggling, "Earth to Ash, we have our next round matches coming up!"

"R-right!" he replies, blushing in embarrassment from zoning out. Avi gives her mom Dratini's Poke Ball and takes off with Ash.

"I'm telling you, by the end of this tournament they'll be together!" Delia laughs.

"I think before that." Bella laughs with her.

"I believe both of you," Professor Oak chuckles, "She's almost like another Ash when it comes to Pokemon, but more calm!"

Avi grabbed Ash's hand and ran to the big screen, Ash gripping onto her hand but still blushing madly. They got to the screen and never let go of each other's hands. The matches were lined up and Avi didn't know whether to panic or be excited. She was matched up against Legend.

"Avi..." Ash didn't know how to take in her matchup.

"Time to end him before he hurts anyone else..." she says with a dedicated tone in her voice.
