Chapter 8

"We are now back from our break and the battle between Avianna and Legend will continue! Trainers are not allowed to reuse any Pokemon already deemed unable to battle, so currently Avianna is in the lead with only two Pokemon down while Legend is down three! Will this battle turn around???"

Ash holds Pikachu in his arms as he watches Avi, carefully watching every little feature of her. The anger in her eyes, the way she's biting her lip as she's thinking about her next strategy, and how stiff her posture is to show her confidence to take Legend down.

"Ash... Just tell her..." Delia says softly, accepting that her son's in love. As much as she joked about him and Avi getting together, she was always scared of her little Ash growing up and becoming his own person; no longer needing his mother anymore.

He blushes red all over again, "Mom, I don't have anything to tell her..." he says nervously.

"Sweetie, say something before she gets away... It's better to actually do something rather than regret it... I regret not telling your father that I wanted to go along with him on his adventure, but here I am to help you not make that same mistake..." she says sadly. Professor Oak and Bella stay quiet, then Ash nods, "Okay, after her battle," he smiles.

"We'll all be right here for you honey!" she cheers.

"Alright Avi, let's finish this," Legend smirks. He throws his PokeBall and releases Hydreigon. Avi keeps her eyes angrily locked into Legend's and throws her PokeBall, releasing Sylveon.

"Sylveon, we worked hard for this opportunity. Do your best to take him down."

"Sylve!" Sylveon nodded, excited to show what she can do.

"You always know how to give yourself some kind of boost, but not this time," he chuckles. "Acrobatics!" he exclaims.

Hydreigon quickly flew to Sylveon and attacked multiple times, nothing that the human eye was able to see clearly.

"Fairy wind!" Avi exclaims. Sylveon grabs Hydreigon with her ribbons then attacked with a powerful fairly wind, doing some intense damage.

"Way to go, Sylveon!" Ash cheered, "Pi-Pikachu!" Pikachu cheered along as well.

"It's not over yet, Avi!" Legend growls, "Flash cannon!"

Hydreigon charged up quickly and hit Sylveon right on her side, launching her right into Avi. She reacted quickly and caught her, hitting her head hard in the process and landing wrong on her arm.

"Avi!" Bella exclaimed in worry. Dratini cried out for her trainer from the sidelines, anxious to go over to Avi and make sure she's alright. Sylveon got up still having the ability to fight while Avi sat up holding onto her arm.

"Are you alright?" the proctor asked. She nods, "I just need a moment... I landed hard..." she giggles a bit.

Some medics come out to check on Avi as Sylveon waits not too far from her, Ash feels his blood pressure slowly rising. "He's really out to get her..."

"Don't worry Ash..." Bella comforts as she types a message on her phone, "I'm sure Avi can do this, and we'll be sure to capture Legend..."

The medics get off of the field and Avi's arm is on a sling and she has a bag of ice on her head, "You really want me out of the picture, don't you...?" she asks Legend quietly.

"Why would I want an elite four champion in my way...?" he asks angrily.

"Did he say elite four champion?!" Ash asked in shock.

"Well you see, Alola just opened up its elite four and Avi happened to be the one that beat the professor for its position. She doesn't say anything about it so she doesn't get the media attention but now the cat's out of the bag..."
