Ash's match went by faster than one can blink. He ran over to the other arena to watch Avi's fight with Legend and so far, they're still on their first Pokemon.
The field was covered in holes and was practically destroyed. Legend's Scolipede looked ready to fall at any moment while Avi's Flygon looked exhausted but still kicking.
"Flygon, hyper beam!" she exclaims. Flygon charged up then blasted Scolipede across the arena, slamming into the wall and fainting.
"Scolipede is unable to battle, Flygon is the winn-" Flygon suddenly drops to the ground and faints. Avi runs out to the field to check on him, holding his head in her arms. "You fought amazingly... Just know this was your victory," she smiles. Ash smiles, knowing Flygon put up a good fight and how Avi's kind enough to not push her Pokemon. She returns Flygon to his Pokeball then goes back to her place.
"You've improved so much since we last battled, Avi," Legend chuckles, "Last time we did, I sweeped you with Scolipede no problem!"
Avi lets out a growl, "I was barely starting my journey when we fought! I'm not focused on proving myself, I'm focusing on stopping you before you hurt anymore Pokemon and trainers!" she spat.
"I'm afraid you've been mistaken dear," he says, grabbing a PokeBall out, "I'm not here to hurt anyone!" he throws a PokeBall out and out comes Conkeldurr. Avi gets her PokeBall out, "Alright buddy, you have a huge advantage here! Make me proud!" she says, throwing the PokeBall. Out came Decidueye, gliding in the air and landing gracefully but looking intimidating.
"Decidueye has a huge advantage in this case," Bella says proudly, her Lucario Lucy nodding in agreement and letting out a small grunt.
"How so? Grass doesn't do much to a fighting type like Conkeldurr, and Decidueye seems to only have one flying technique!" Professor Oak asks. Bella giggles, "Decidueye lost it's flying type status when it evolved, which was a shame, but it gained ghost type status so it's perfect!"
"Fascinating!" Professor Oak exclaims, writing that information down for his knowledge.
"Since you gave me the honors last round, why don't you go first?" Avi smirks.
Legend lets out a growl, "Alright, use smack down!" he commands. Conkeldurr throws one of his stone slabs at Decidueye, and it glides up no problem dodging it.
"Spirit Shackle!" Avi exclaimed. Decidueye makes a bow and arrow with its wing and shoots an arrow, circling around Conkeldurr and hitting him. A ghostly aura surrounding him.
"What's wrong with Conkeldurr???" Delia asks.
"Well Decidueye's move makes it so that the opponent takes damage when hit along with not being able to leave the battle until it faints. Legend's in a lot of trouble right now because Decidueye and Avi have trained hard to make him very efficient in battle. Back in Alola their team work is very well known and some even fear Decidueye's skills, which is why Avi tends to save him for worst scenarios. Thing is, she's been looking to stop Legend for so long now that he understands how determined she is to do so, so he dedicates to working hard to know how to stop all of his Pokemon. Her entire team and Pokemon at home are! Even our Growlithe and Arcanine want to help..."
"Wow... She has that much dedication..." Delia admires, "Mimey is like that with Ash, always helping me find out where he is and if he's competing in any kind of contests... Making sure he tells Ash after he comes back home that we watched everything possible about him and cheering him on... I completely understand!" she smiles.
They look back at the field and Decidueye lands a final blow on Conkeldurr.
"Conkeldurr is unable to battle, winner is Decidueye!" the proctor announces. Decidueye wipes dust off of his shoulder and turns to Avi and smiles big.
