Addison was disappointed to see the movie go. That meant he had to go back to dealing with the real world.
Yet nonetheless, he reluctantly followed Evan and his sister out of the theatre, where Okieriete was waiting.
"Come." He said, "The president wishes to speak with you."
Addison exchanged a look with his sister. This was beginning to just seem like an elaborate prank - that, or they starring in a new cheesy action movie, and just didn't know about it yet.
"Suuure." Amberley said, drawing out the syllable and giving her brother and oh -so -inconspicuous wink. Addison groaned internally at his dim witted sister as Okieriete gave the duo a strange look.
The twins followed their uncle through the large building which, frankly, didn't seem like much of a secret organization to them.
Sure, there were people typing away at computers in cubicles, speaking into their minuscule ear pieces, and yeah - they could see suspicious weapon art every other turn, and large windows that revealed heated arguments, but, in all honesty, it lacked that sci-fi factor you may find in most other underground secret spy organizations.
To the twins, it resembled your average, everyday office building.
If we really are in a movie, they sure as heck are working on a small budget - or they wasted it all on the M&M slide. He thought, as they passed through the crowded building.
But then he noticed something else that surely didn't make any sense - the windows. Or, more specifically, what was outside them. Images of the outside world, even though they were what Addison estimated to be approximately 1,000 feet underground. And not just images of Time Square, or even Manhattan - No, Addison noted as he took a closer look. Images of The Eiffel Tower, Tokyo, the White House, the Colosseum, London Bridge, and the Sydney Opera House blared on the walls outside the supposed 'windows', yet no one seemed to blink an eye.
"Enjoying the view?" A new voice spoke from above Addison, who simply nodded his head, unable to take his eyes away from the spectacular sight.
"How does it work?" He asked in wonder, finally looking up to see an Asian man, most likely in his mid forties, looking down at him. The man gave him a kind smile.
"If you look closely, you will see that behind the holographic image, there are several wires. These connect to thousands of computers in the back room, which play 24/7 surveillance all over the world, one placed in the estimated most commonly known location of each country." He explained to Addison, who soaked it all up quickly as he turned back to see The Great Wall of China up in his face.
"Fascinating." He murmured.
"I am the USHO President, Johnathan Lim." The president offered his hand to the wide eyed boy before him, a polite smile remained on his face.
Addison looked up, struggling to contain his shock that the president of USHO himself had spoken to him, and shook his grasp, praying that his hand wasn't sweaty.
"There you are, you stupid dunce!" Addison's face flushed red as he turned to see a familiar, white haired girl running his way, Okieriete not far behind her.
"Ah. And who might this...... Charming young lady be?" Johnathan's smile suddenly looked strained. Amberley looked to her brother, confused.
"Who's your friend?" She asked bluntly.
"Amberley, this is Johnathan Lim, president of the USHO." Addison introduced through gritted teeth. "Sir, this is my..... Dog sitter's cousin, once removed, Amberley."
