Guards were gathered. Weapons were drawn. A jeep pulled up in front of the gate that led out of Arcadia. It was filled with guards, weapons, food, and other stationary and necessary items.
"Is everyone all set to go?" Kane asked, peering his head into the window of the jeep.
"Yes, Chancellor sir" one of the guards replied.
"Stay warm out there. I hear there is going to be quite the snowfall tonight" Kane said.
"I will make sure we do sir" One of the guards replied. His name tag read Sergeant Smith.
Kane nodded his head and backed away from the jeep, zipping up his winter coat as a gust of wind flew from the north.
Abby walked up to the jeep window. "Bring her home boys"
The driver of the jeep, Sergeant Wilson, put the gear into drive and held his foot on the brake.
"Open the gates" Kane called.
The gates were opened. Sergeant Wilson took his foot off the brake and stepped on the gas. They accelerated and pulled out of Arcadia.
"Hold on tight boys. This is going to be a bumpy ride" Sergeant Smith said.
Everyone fastened their seat belts as the jeep continued down its path.

After driving for what seemed like hours, the jeep pulled over. The soldiers got out, weapons in hand.
"Scour the area" Sergeant Wilson said.
"Yes sir" said a poolee named Carmen.
The soldiers split up, all going in different directions.
Carmen walked by himself, climbing over large rocks and fallen tree trunks.
The forest was utterly silent. Only the snapping of twigs and branches as Carmen stepped over them.
Wind. A loud rush of wind. Carmen spun around.
Sergeant Smith heard a loud scream pierce the utter silence. All hell broke loose
