Clarke stretched all of her aching limbs. The prison beds definitely weren't the most comfortable thing she had slept on, and that said something, because during her Wanheda days, she slept on the dirty forest floor. Even that was more comfortable than the prison's small cots that laid meekly on a set of jabbing metal springs.
Bellamy was leaning against the door frame to her cell.
"You ready to go princess?"
"Don't call me that.Ever."
Bellamy gave a soft chuckle to himself. "I already packed clothes and other rations, we don't know how long we will be gone for"
"It shouldn't be too long, this island is only five to ten miles lone at the most"
"That seems like an accurate guess" Bellamy concluded.
They left Clarke's prison cell and went into the main common area where the rest of the group sat on the oak wooden picnic tables.
"You guys are leaving this late?" Monty asked.
"Yeah, if we travel at night, we will be back by morning with the rations" Bellamy concluded.
"Stay safe you guys, we don't need more trouble than we already have being stuck on this island" Raven said, giving both Bellamy and Clarke hug.
"Thanks" Clarke said, putting a empty backpack on her shoulders.
Bellamy and Clarke left the prison, walking west.
"It sure did snow last night, I am glad I put on some thick socks and boots" Bellamy said.
"Me too"
They continued to walk in silence when they suddenly heard a crack on branches that broke it.
Clarke quickly pulled the small Swiss Army knife that she kept strapped to her thigh, she grabbed it by the hilt and pointed it in the direction of the sound.
Standing in the snow was a deer, a buck, it's horns majestic, standing tall on its head.
A shot echoed through the sky as the deer dropped dead, its blood splattering into the white snow, turning it burgundy.
Clarke looked at Bell as he tucked the gun back into his pocket.
He grabbed the deer by its antlers and they continued west ward.
