Chapter 3

(KAYLA POV)

With all the guys talking about me, it made me really nervous. What were they saying bout me? Well considering the fact that I heard the guys say 'Jealous', 'Crush', and one of the guy's names, maybe one of them like me? No, that can't be it, I probably just heard them wrong. I shouldn't even be listening in on their conversation. I feel so stupid. After a while though, they all left and gave me with a good tip. The rest of the day was boring with only a few teen girls coming for their daily coffee fill. As time passed quickly throughout the rest the day I was finally able to pack up and go home.

I pull up to my apartment and start walking to the door. I opened the door to see my roommate Caleb watching some old Breaking Bad series on the couch.

"Hey dood" I say as I'm walking to my room.

"Hey. How busy was it today?" Caleb asked still staring at the Tv.

"Not much, just a few hot guys that I TOTALLY EMBARRASSED MYSELF IN FRONT OF, otherwise a normal Friday"

"What did you do this time?" he laughed.

"Danced like an idiot, but I'm gonna go skype some friends"

"FRIENDS. Who said you could have friends?"

"Haha. Very funny. Well guess what... Walter dies!"

"NOOOO. YOU SUCK!" he screamed as he jumped up and started chasing me to my room. I locked my door, grabbed my laptop and sat on my bed as I started up Skype. I had four missed messages, all from someone named 'noahfangirl69'. I called the person back as Caleb was still banging on my door. The person answered.

"Hi Kayla" Noah said. As soon as Noah talked, the banging behind my door went silent.

"Hi Noah, one sec" I said as I put my laptop on my bed and walked to the door. I slowly opened the door, peeked my head out. I looked to the right and saw no one

"BOO!" Caleb yelled in my left ear. I screamed at the top of my lungs, then I saw it was him. He was holding his sides in laughter.

"Staph it" I said to him as I went back in my room. I looked at my laptop, there was Noah looking at me while stifling a laugh. He then put on a serious face.

"Who was that?" He asked.

"Oh him, he's my roommate, Caleb" I pointed to the door.

(NOAH POV)

Roommate? I thought it would be her brother, but a roommate. And it's A GUY. Like, I have roommates but that's when I'm visiting one of the guys, not living there with them. Could she like him?

"Oh cool, how old are you by the way?"I ask trying to be calm.

"I'm 16"she replied. 16. Soo, she's 16 and already moved out. I gotta see how this happened.

"Hey, uhh Kayla. If your only 16, how did you move out already?" She froze as I said this.

"Well, uhh about a month ago I was fed up and over my limit with my family's actions so I packed up and left, then I kinda moved on and found an apartment I was able to share" she stuttered.

"Where does your family live now?" I ask curiously.

"Well they live in Wisconsin, in the States"

"WISCONSIN! That's so far away" I almost screamed, "HOW did you end up in Montreal, CANADA!"

"Well I started driving north and soon I hit the border. I kept going until I reached the place I always dreamed of going to. Here"

"Well, why here?"I ask.

"Because I can speak french, and this is the place closest to me that has french culture, that speaks both languages. Plus I just wanted to see the scenery and get far away from my past." she whispered.

"Well, what happened in your past that got you kicked out?"

(KAYLA POV)

Do I want to tell him? What if he thinks of me as some crazy fan girl who's obsessed with Youtubers. I probably should tell him.

"Well, no matter what I did to please my parents, they never thought it was enough. All the time they would ask me to do stuff for them that they could have done. I only ever had a little free time. In that little free time I would do homework or watch some YouTube videos to take the edge off of the anger or sadness that they caused inside of me. That sadness and anger was because if anything went wrong, it was always my fault. If I asked them nicely to do something they would throw it away and say it was my fault. That I shouldn't have ever asked them to do that because it was my mess, therefore my job. It was never my mess though; it was my brother and sister's. I could never argue with them though, because if I did they would hurt me. So when the opportunity came to move out, I took it." By the end of this I was crying. I wiped my tears.

"I never thought......I'm so sorry"

"Can we please change the subject?"I whispered

"Sure, sure.... Wanna play some minecraft?" He asked

"Sure"

"What's your in game name?" he asked.

"KaylaCraftPMO" I replied

"Nice name"

"Thanks"I reply shyly

We then went to his server and started playing sky wars.

"Ready, Set, Go!"

"Hey Noah, what did you get from your chests?"I ask after we started.

"I got some armor and a stone axe, you?"

"Don't worry about me, I gots a plan"I say as I start building straight up, Chang style.

"What is - "he stops as he looks at me.

"Hi" I stop and look at him, then kept going up.

"Your a Chang!"

"Yes, yes I am" I shouted proudly as I started making my base.

"Get Down Here!" He yelled

"Only if you whistle!" I knew he couldn't whistle.

"How'd you know I couldn't whistle?!"he asked surprised.

"Well when I said I watched some YouTube videos, I didn't really mention that some of them are yours."

All I heard after I said this was...

....

silence.
