Chapter 10

(CALEB POV)

"Remember?" I asked her. She hesitated but nodded. I liked the diner that I brought her to. It's food was great along with the service, but my favorite part was her. She told me so much about her and I actually started to care a lot for her. After that first date though we went to Walmart and bought the things she needed. Just like a phone charger, some t-shirts and regular clothes. We had fun, but now I'm going on an actual date with her. Or at least I'm calling it a date. I saw the diner in sight.

"We're here" I said as I pulled into the 70's diner.

"Ok" she simply stated while unbuckling her seat belt. I quickly got out and was about to open her door when she laughed and got out on her own. Dang it. I wasn't quick enough. I then instead walked to the front door of the diner and opened the door for her.

(KAYLA POV)

I always thought it was funny how guys try to rush to the girls side of the car, but I didn't mind getting a door held open for me. I always thought that was kinda cute. I walked into the diner to be met by cool air rushing towards my face. It felt nice as I walked over to a booth by the front windows. He sat across from me and picked up his menu. Just then the waitress walked up, introduced herself and took our drink orders of two diet cokes. She came back a minute later and asked our pick of meal. I chose a turkey tortilla wrap with some chips, while Caleb ordered a loaded hamburger and chips. While we waited we talked about everything that meant nothing and nothing about what meant everything. So basically the weather, our neighbors, and work. Our meals then arrived so we started eating while chit chatting a little. I then brought up the subject of this Wednesday, my birthday, and invited him to the paintball thing. He said sure and asked me what I would like as a present.

"Shoot um. I actually don't know what I want." I confessed while looking down

"Come on. There has to be something" he begged

"You really want to know?" I asked

"Yes" he said while looking me in the eyes

"Ummmm. A twitch hoodie" I whispered. I waited for him to tell me that that was a stupid idea just like my parents would have done. But that didn't come. I looked back up at him.

"Ok that's actually a really cool idea" he said while looking up like he was thinking. He looked back at me and smiled.

"Are we done?" He asked politely. I looked at my plate. The chips and half of the wrap was gone but I was full.

"Yes. I guess we are" I said while starting to pull out my wallet to pay for my meal.

"No it's ok. I got it" Caleb said while getting his wallet out too.

"Can I least pay for my meal" I asked

"Nope" he smiled while popping the "p"

"Can I duel you in COD Ghosts then?" I asked while smirking. I knew he was pretty good but I've been practicing some nights.

"Ok. But loser makes supper. Deal?" He said while putting his hand out

"Deal" I said while shaking his hand. I packaged the leftover of my lunch in a to go box and followed Caleb to the truck. Caleb rushed to my side of the truck first and opened the door for me. I let him open my door for me without causing a fuss this time and hopped in the truck. I then pulled my phone out of my pocket and started looking through my contacts randomly. I stopped on Breanne's and thought about inviting her. I opened a new message and sent it to her asking if she'd like to go paintballing this Wednesday. She said ok and asked if she could bring a friend and what the paintballing was for. I told her it was for my birthday and that she could and she started wishing me a happy birthday in all caps. I then texted her thanks and she said your welcome before I slipped my phone back into my pocket.

Sorry for the really short chapter guys but I am soo tired. Only 5 hours of sleep many days in a row is not healthy. My teacher even asked me if I wanted to stop updating so often for my health and grades. I told her no but the chapters on weekdays might be a little shorter than the ones on the weekends. Ok?
