Chapter 14

Hayley's POV

It's been a few day and were here at the cabin recording. this cabin is pretty cool it has secret hiding places and doors that lead to other doors. I don't think the others know about it. My room has a bathroom and the mirror in the bathroom is kinda like a medicine cabinet and it comes off revealing a secret passage in the walls leading to other rooms around the house. It's fucking awesome. Anyways things with Chris have been good I've been calling and we've been talking through Skype. Apparently the band that is supposed to be sharing the cabin with us was invited to another tour. Oh well, I'll just meet them later.

Kevin started to record the vocal to Hope by We Came As Romans

"You need to hit that note a little louder!" I yelled from the other side of the glass

He nodded his head and sang it again. I gave him a thumbs up after and we proceeded with the song.

"I think that's enough for today" Kevin said getting out of the booth.

"Alright guys" I said

We went upstairs to the living room. I went to the kitchen and called the pizza place and ordered pizza and wings.

"Max!" I called for him

I herd a bark and nails against wood. I placed his bowl full of dog food an the floor for him to eat.

I went and sat on the couch and we watched some movies. My phone started vibrating in my back pocket and I fished it out. I looked at the number and saw it was Chris. I got up and went to back porch.

"Hey baby!" I answered

"Hey" he said sounding a little sad

"Hey what's wrong?" I asked concerned

"I just miss you" he said sighing

"Aww baby I miss you too!" I said feeling kinda bad

"But hey I only have a few more days to go so that's good !" He said kinda happy

"Yeah ,see, u have to think positively" I said smiling.

"We'll it so nice to here your voice again babe ...I miss you like crazy" he said

"Me to after tour you should come visit me" I said ...I herd the doorbell ring I saw Kevin get up and opened the door.

"Ugh finally the foods here" I herd Kim say

"Babe I have to go i'll call you later tonight okay?" Chris asked

"Yeah baby remember to have fun and be careful" I said .we said our goodbyes and hung up.

(A few days later)

"Make it sound louder and longer" I told Zack he played the last bass part of the song doing exactly what he was told.

"Yeah ..." I said saving it "that's a wrap guys we all high fived each other and made our way up stairs.

We put some movies on like we have been doing all month long. It's about 5:30 pm and I herd a strong knock on the door.

"I'll get it " I said getting up from the couch. Max joined me. I flung the door open and looked. Nothing, there was no one there. I herd Max whimper and I looked down. A black haired green eye little girl sat there. She almost looked ...like a doll. I quickly picked her up. She had an envelope in her hands. I brought her in side.

"Hey guys" I said by the door way

"What?" they all said turning to me .

"Well..." I trail off

"What the hell?" Zack and Kim said

"Hey!" I said covering the child's ears.

"Oh right" Kim said covering her mouth.

"What ?" Zack questioned

"Don't say curse words in front of a child dumb nut" Kim said hitting him upside the head.

The little girl in my arms began to get upset.

"Aw maybe she's hungry" Sabrina said.

"Right but what do we give her?" I asked

"Baby food dumb ssshhhoes" Kevin said realizing he was about to curse

"What are we gonna do with a baby ?" Zack said taking her from me and bouncing her up and down lightly.

"I think we should go to the grocery store then.plus were running outa ssshhhoes to eat" Zack said covering his mouth

"Wow you guys really need to work on not cursing." I said "someone has to stay here with her incase the mom or dad come back." I exclaimed

(Time lapse)

" we're back!!" I yelled

"We're right here!" Kim yelled right next to me.

"I'll set the bags in the kitchen" Kevin said

I came back and Kim was sitting next to the little girl who was laying down on her tummy watching Sesame Street.

"I have banana and strawberry and sweet potato baby food... I wonder witch one she likes better" I said out loud. Kim picked her up and held her in her laps.

"Here comes the plane!" I said and gave her a taste of the sweet potato one. She made a face like she didnt like it . Then my phone started ringing. I picked it up, not bothering to look at who was calling and held it between my head and shoulder.

"Mmmyello?" I asked

"Hey baby" Chris' voice filled my ears

"Oh hey babe" I said as I tried feeding her she made a face and began to wine. "Ok let's try the other one then" I said to her

" is that a baby I here?" Chris asked through the phone

"Chris in sorry I'm gonna have to call you back" I said and hung up before he could say anything els. I opened the other jar of baby food.

"Try this one" I said cleaning her mouth and spoon and giving her some of the other one. She didnt make a face this time.

"I think she likes it!" Zack said smiling and sitting next to me.i fed her the rest of the baby food and helped her burp. I got her some diapers at Walmart cause I don't know how long she'll be with us for and changed her. I took the child up to my room and laid her on her stomach in the middle of my bed I sat down next to her and pulled out the letter she had in her had when I opened the door. I pulled the letter out and it read ...

"dear stranger ... I am scared of what my husband can do to my child there for I have placed her in your hands please take care of her. I'm sorry if she becomes a burden on you . But I had to keep her safe. please I will not come to look for her ever. If I do he will find out and kill her ... Her name is Skylar. She's 9 months old and her birthday is October 16 .. Please all I ask is that you keep her safe. Please raise her as your own. Do not tell her about me ..she will hate me forever."

"Oh fuck" I said as i finished reading the letter
