WHOOOOAAA GUYS.
Okay. Don't hate me. Please. I kind of took a (long as heck) break from this book because I was trying to get a lot of my life in order last year. I am SO SORRY THAT I TOOK A BILLION YEARS TO TRY TO UPDATE. I promise that I thought about it, I really honestly did, and I started writing out the next part, BUT I stopped because I had lost touch with my motivation and the chapter wasn't coming out the way I wanted it to, so I scrapped it.
I AM GOING TO TRY TO UPDATE THIS STORY AS MUCH AS I POSSIBLY CAN THIS YEAR. I have started two new books within the last few months, one very very recently, and I am going to try to create an updating schedule so I can finish this book and get a good start on my other ones.
I am not sure if I want to do a weekly schedule for my books or if I want to make it biweekly, but once I figure it out I will post an update in the following chapter what I want to do with Captured. Thank you so much to those that continued to comment and give it a lot of love in the past year. While it may not seem like I care or I forgot about the comments and votes, I didn't. More and more of you guys continued to vote, comment, and add this story to your libraries and that's when I KNEW I couldn't scrap it.
ANYWAY thank you so much if you have read this lengthy author's note, and let's get into the next chapter. (ALSO I am sorry if it is a choppy chapter, or filler-ish. I am trying to get back into my groove of writing!)
xx Blu
The first, and last, time that I had shifted now passed by in the following months. It had been a while since I had shifted, and I was thankful. For whatever reason, Lucian stopped harassing me as much, but I didn't dare question it. If he was leaving me alone, then I was happy. I didn't need an explanation as to why he had stopped his assaults on me in an attempt to get me to shift. He still, luckily, didn't find out that I had all those months ago on that dreadful night.
Now, healed and ignoring the feminine voice in my head whenever she decided to pop up, I continued my duties as a servant. All in all, while it wasn't ideal, and a part of me wished to be home, it wasn't as bad as I had initially thought. Everyone kept to themselves, and Casper didn't cause me any more stress than Lucian did. In fact, it was as if I had disappeared from everyone's head, which was something I was trying to do ever since I hopped that stupid fence.
More and more servants continued to be 'let go,' as Casper put it, so now there were about half as many humans here than when I first started. Amber stayed, thankfully, and after that night, I found myself continuing to open up to her more and more, and we would talk animatedly through the night.
I found out that she was actually born into serving Casper, and had been helping around his castle for as long as she can remember. By the time she was 8 she was actually given responsibilities and chores to actually do once her parents passed away. It seemed from a lot of people that not many got to live past a certain age here.
Lucian had also failed to continue to bite me, instilling me with the poison that he had promised, and quite frankly pretended that I didn't exist. By this time, I knew that the illness was out of my system, but Casper never seemed to take the bait to bite me. He had insinuated it a few times when we were alone in his chambers, but he never acted on it. Instead, where Casper had been caring and concerned before, he now remained disinterested and barely acknowledged me. In fact, there have been a few days in the past weeks where he dismissed me totally from serving that day, so instead I ventured back into his library during my down time. I, unfortunately, was never able to find the book that had piqued my interest the first time I had explored.
Once my duties were done during the day, and after I had served Casper in the evening, towards the middle of the night I would find myself continuing to venture to the library, reading some classic novels and even a few history texts in my down time, before sneaking back to my chambers in the early dawn.
