Chapter Nine

I ran up the stairs to my room and quickly unlocked the window. Allowing Alec to pass through. "Thanks Sky I was getting tired of waiting. I feel like this is how Romeo hung out with Juliet all the time. Levi offered to let me sit in his car until you guys got here but I told him that your aunt would probably think that it was weird that someone was sitting in a car in front of her house." He said trying to explain how his last few minutes were spent. "I have two things to ask about. So first of all Romeo hung out with Juliet by sneaking in through her bedroom window. And second how long were you in that tree?" I asked ruffling his hair. "Yep that's how they hung out and I've been in that tree for about 13 minutes." He said as he began to play with my hair "My little physco." "Whatever weirdo." I said as I turned around to head downstairs to see if Olive and Becca had gotten all of their things in or needed any help carrying up to my room. But was stopped by Alec who had grabbed my wrist "You know you can tell me anything right?" That was the second time he had asked me that in the same day, I don't know how many times one person can ask another person the same thing. "Of course I know that Alec, we are best friends and I have known you since 3rd grade." I still wasn't ready to admit about my addiction to alcohol to him or any of my friends yet or how I even really felt about what all had happened in the past six months. "Okay good." He said pulling me into a very long hug. Olive and Rebecca finally made it up to my room turns out they didn't need any help after all.

"Are you guys hungry?" I asked not because I was hungry but because I assumed that they were probably starving being that it was now almost 8:00. "Yeah I'm starved." Alec said. Not long after he said that Becca and Olive blurted out "Us too.""Okay how do you guys feel about ordering a pizza or something?" I asked because they delivered and I didn't feel like going anywhere because it could possibly trigger my anxiety which I didn't want to happen while I was hanging out with my friends. I didn't want them to see me like that. "YEAH" They all practically shouted, I quickly hushed them because my aunt was asleep, and she would kill me if she knew Alec was here. I walked into the hallway to order two pizzas one cheese and another supreme pizza from Papa John's. Then I quietly opened my door and told them that the pizzas would be here within an hour. Which made them all huff simultaneously.

I was getting uncomfortable in my jeans so I walked over to my dresser and grabbed an All Time Low t-shirt and a sports bra, and some new Hollister pajama shorts I had just bought the other day. Then I walked down the hallway to the bathroom to change since my room was occupied. I quickly changed into my pajamas. I silently crept back down the hallway to see if my friends were silently talking about the new things they discovered about me that day but I was shocked by what I heard. "Hey Alec, so is there anything between you and Skylar. Because it honestly seems like there is." I heard Olive ask him, which kind of ticked me off a bit because I had told him repeatedly that we were just friends I mean why didn't they just drop it already instead they were interagating him now, which was so uncool. I walked into the room before he could answer saying "Hey guys what are you talking about." While walking over to sit down beside Alec nudging him with my shoulder. Which made him smile just a bit.

"We weren't talking about anything important, just discussing how hungry we all were." Alec lied, smiling at me. I wish that they wouldn't lie to me, I made it pretty obvious that I was standing outside the door listening to the whole conversation. "Oh." I said, just then the doorbell went off, causing us to all jump up and bolt for the door, racing each other down the stairs. I had set nearly $30 dollars aside on the table in the kitchen earlier when I ordered the pizza. I grabbed it off of the table and ran to the door. I was suprised at who was standing at the door. "Ryan?!? What are you doing here?" I asked suprised at the boy with the mysterious eyes that looked broken. "I work at Papa John's, I got a job there before we finished unpacking. I recognized the address and volunteered to deliver it." He said. "Oh, okay..." I muttered. "I wanted to ask if you had read it." "No I haven't gotten a chance." Before he could reply, Alec walked up to the door and grabbed the pizzas from Ryan. "Thanks dude, you can go now." Alec snapped taking the money from me and nearly throwing it at Ryan. "Keep the change." Alec said, while shutting the door in Ryans face. "What was that about Alec?!?!" I snapped looking directly into his face. "Nothing Sky, I just didn't like the way he was looking at you."He admitted. "Alec, we were just talking, I know him. We met him and his brothers earlier today." I informed Alec, I honestly didn't know what had gotten into him. There was no reason for him to treat Ryan that way, he had done nothing wrong. What Ryan had said about the note he snuck into my pocket before I got out of the truck reminded me to run upstairs and grab it out of the pocket of my hoodie. So the note wouldn't get washed. I tucked it neatly into my nightstand knowing that my friends wouldn't go looking through my things. I will read it tomorrow after school.

By the time I had returned back to the kitchen, one of the pizzas was already gone. "You guys really were starving, huh?" I asked grabbing a piece of what was left of the supreme pizza.
"Duh, we were." Rebecca said. "Are you guys ready to head back up to my room and plan the trip. I won't have to wake my aunt up for another few hours." I asked them, not wanting my aunt to know Alec was here. "Sure, let's go." Alec shouted running upstairs. "Alec hush my aunt doesn't know you're here." I yelled after him, my aunt was a heavy sleep so I doubt she heard him. At that we all clamored up the stairs and ran quickly down the hall to my room.
