Chapter 11 - Its Too Late

"I'm getting too old for this," the Doctor says shocked by the accusation.

"How dare you accuse me of witchcraft!" I scream at king Charles again,

"Well how do you expect to explain that then," King Charles says pointing inside the TARDIS.

I feel shove as I get pushed out the TARDIS by the Doctor.

"Don't look at her like that!" The Doctor says meanly to the King,

"At who?"

"My TARDIS," the Doctor says shocked I just burst out laughing,

"You, witch! You are being put under trial," he exclaims causing me to gasp offended, "and you man, your obviously loony so just chuck him in the insane asylum,"

"What no! Let go of me," the Doctor gasp as he gets pulled away by some guards,

"And take her to my exclusive jail, before we can start the witch trials!" he orders before smirking evilly at the Doctor and pushing me,

"Doctor!" I scream, "Help!"

I kick and scratch and try and knock them down but they don't budge. I give up. But I'm not going to cry, I'm not going to let him see how much he can hurt me, because then he could do anything.

They push me into a small cell inside the palace and laugh and make faces, I turn my back and give them the silent treatment.

I take the Doctors necklace in my hands and fiddle with it, seeing it is all I have.

No one will talk to me and I will talk to no one.

They can not have that satisfaction.

The Doctors Pov

I can't believe it, they took her from me. I was meant to keep her safe, this always happen. I punch the cell wall.

What sort insane asylum is this?

Obviously not a good one seeing as I can escape really easily.

I grab my sonicscrewdriver and unlock the padlock holding the door, quietly I sneak out of my cell and unlock the small window. I'm glad I'm on ground level.

I jump out, this place isn't even guarded. That- that can't be right.

I have to ignore it and get on with saving Hope. I run out and onto a dirt road guessing it's the main road, there are a lot of emptied, falling to bits buildings, the King is greedy and he's bad news. As soon as we met him I knew something was not right.

I don't think that's the real King.

I swing around, what was that? I heard yelling and it sounded familiar. It's defiantly not Hope it's a male but who. I can hear another voice that one is also familiar. I run up to one of the buildings where I believe it has come from, sorry Hope, urgent business.

I burst through the door.

"Jack.... Charles?"

"Doctor?" Jack says lowering his gun from King Charles, why is Captain Jack Harkness with King Charles II?

"Who?" King Charles II says

"Come on don't you act innocent, you kidnapped Hope," I spit,

"How'd he kidnap Hope?" Jack asks confused,

"You don't even know Hope!" I say even more confused,

"Okay? then maybe I should just leave then seeing as I have no hope," Jack says angrily but confused,

"what?"

"Your saying I have no hope?" Jack says,

"No, my companion Hope!" I laugh,

"Oh... sorry continue," he laughs,

"I did not kidnap anyone you fool, I don't even know who you are?" Charles says extremely confused, "look all I remember is getting hit on the head and dumped, then you kidnapped me and I'm here," he says,

"you liar your a Zygon," Jack exclaims pulling his gun out again,

"Jack? I think you've kidnapped the real King Charles," I say gulping,

"oh?! That's bad," he says embarrassed,

"That means that Hopes with a Zygon!" I say worried " Jack look after Charles and if he dies it's your fault"

"Okay, I'll protect King Charles" Jack smiles raising his eyebrows, I just shake my head and continue to run,

"Hope I'm coming and I won't let them get away with this." I whisper,

I run back into the main part of town and see the TARDIS, I run inside messing with the controls until I land at the kings palace.

I open the door to a gut clenching scream. I quickly put my hand over the woman's mouth.

"shhh," I whisper,

"Witchcraft," she nearly screams, "are you a woman?"

"What? No and I'm not a witch!" I exclaim "I'm the Doctor"

"Penny Silverton," she smiles extending her hand "I'm a maid here,"

"Do you know where the prison is?"

"Yeah, are you going to save the witch in there!" she says excitedly,

"She's not a witch!" I exclaim a bit harshly,

"Oh, who is she then, I feel so sorry for her," Penny says frowning,

"Hope, and why do you feel sorry for her?" I ask frowning,

"Because she been in there for over a week and she refuses to talk or sleep or eat!" Penny exclaims

"no, a week I must of- I don't kno-- I just-- Hope?"

Here's a shortcut" Penny says seeing my distort,

We pull around the corner and there's a looked door, "we can't get through here it's usually open!"

"Don't you worry," I laugh pulling out my sonic screwdriver,

"Okay?" she laughs as I open the door,

"Hope?" I yell,

We approach the cell and she's gone.

I'm too late.
