Chapter O1.

Jade's Biggest Mistake

    Jade was always "quiet" and didn't really bother anyone, well let me take that back there was this girl that Jade didn't like so her and her friends "beefed" with those girls from 1st to 3rd grade, but Jade was quiet. She never did anything really, just tripped the girl once and the girls were neighbors so they had to see one another everyday being that they stayed in the same building in Chapel Hill. Fast forward, Jade's 4th grade and she moves from the apartment into a house on the other side of town, Riverton. Jade has a little sister, well a stepsister whose mother was stupid like hella stupid. She kept her sister away from them because Jade's mom was married to her babydaddy. 🙄 well their babydaddy, because mom had a child by him too, it was a boy. His name's Kwan.
    BUT whenever Ashlee (the stepsister) came over she never had clothes and her and Jade ended up matching because they always took family portraits together. One day, when Jade, Ashlee and their brothers were home alone before their parents came home from work her and Ashlee got into a fight. The fight ended with Jade throwing the hot iron at Ashlee and when she started hollering and taking noise Jade ran to her and pressed the iron down on her. 😷😭 While Ashlee cried, Jade laughed hysterically -- she was in 4th grade, Ashlee was 3rd grade and no one really liked her because her skin color, she was black like darker than average brown skin people and her hair was ate up cause her mama didn't take care of it. Jade's big brother, Twan pushed her away and when the iron fell, all of Ashlee's skin on her arm had burned down to the white meat. That's when everyone started panicking because Jade didn't expect that to happen and they would have to explain what happened to their parents. They tried everything from using alcohol to clean it to using a paper towel with water, even told her to put on a big shirt so it wouldn't show.
      After all of this took place, when their parents found out and Ashlee was take to the hospital an investigation was started to see what took place and how Ashlee was being treated. All because of Jade's hatred for her, she was taken from them and given back to her mother who continued to poison her. That was the first time Jade had ever lost her temper, but she begin to scare herself after that... Her stepdad's family hated her and her big brother for a long time because he took the blame for it.

I'm certain Y'all just read that and got pissed off, YES I'm Jade and I've owned up to MY mistakes. I've apologized and everything that's happened after has been MY KARMA & me and my little sister are right as hell but I KNOW she still thinks about what I did to her because I didn't make her situation any better. I was part of the problem during our childhood and I'm MORE THAN CERTAIN a lot of You will read this book and think of this first chapter and say I deserved everything that's happened to me and I honestly don't disagree now that I've wrote what I did to her out. This is ALSO MY most violent memory, the most violent thing I've ever done to anyone rather and I hope and pray I never carry that much hatred in my heart again well enough to actually do it because my thoughts scare me 65% of the time. At first I didn't know why things were falling apart and never went right for me, but now that I've started writing this book I now know I just PRAY the LORD spares my daughter because she's innocent, well as innocent as a child can be. 😓🙏🏾
