Chapter 43.5

Toronto, Samra's house

I had to scoop up Lamar from his house because his lazy ass didn't want to drive. My mom had already prepared food for our stay, when we got there she of course held both of us tight, she look at Lamar as her second son because of how long he's been around.

"My boys!" she said with a smile, she also looked behind me as if I brought someone other than Lamar. "Where's your friend you brought last time?"

"Oh Adira? She's in New York working, I'll bring her again soon ma." she nodded her head in a  understanding matter.

Wednesday, Dr.Cooke 6 p.m.

Adira

Lilian and I were sitting in the doctor's waiting room. I told Abel we were going out to eat so I couldn't talk much to him. We got called back shortly but this time the nurse let Lilian come back with me, we waited a additional 15 minutes until Dr.Cooke came in.

"Good evening Ms.Rosalies." he walked in reading his clipboard. Once he looked over to me he had a confused face. "Didn't the nurse tell you to dress in the hospital?" I shook my head no so he gave me a dress and waited outside the door for me to get undressed, once I was dressed he re-entered the room.

"So we are here for...." he looked at his clipboard "....ah a ultra sound and some tests, last time I saw you we might have heard a heart beat but we couldn't find anything right?"

I nodded in agreement.

"Okay so we are hoping for better answers today.", he grabbed the small ultrasound prob (pretend dick) and slowly inserted it, he moved it around to make sure he saw everything, Lilian was examining from her chair.

"Strange." was all he said, he also mentioned that he was going to do some quick blood tests and left the room before I can ask any questions.

"What does 'strange' mean?!" Lilian questioned.

The nurse came in with a cart of different needles and tubes for the blood, I looked away as she put the needle in my body and transferred tube after tube for what felt like forever. Once she was done with that she said it would be at least 10 minutes for the result's

Doctor Cooke came back looking at his clipboard again.

"Well Ms.Rosalies I'm gonna be very truthful.....you were pregnant for maybe 24 hours then the child died before it can fully develop, and the reason you still are having pregnancy symptoms is because you have pseudocyesis. "

My heart dropped. My eyes were getting watery. A tear came from my eye. I was dead silent as Dr.Cooke tried to comfort me by genuinely hugging me. Lilian was speechless herself but asked him what a pseudocyesis was.

"Well a pseudocyesis is when you have all the pregnancy symptoms but you yourself are not pregnant due to whatever circumstances, you can have all the pregnancy symptoms including the labor pain but that is rare."

I left the room and Lilian followed with our bags rushing to catch up, I walked outside and she paid the co-pay with my debit card. I waited for her in the car as tears rolled down my face.
