Chapter 40

Adira POV

Culture Espresso (coffee shop)

Jae told me to meet him at this coffee shop. I feel alright, mentally but I'll probably be a wreck when we start talking again but my vomiting still hasn't gone away so Abel is still insisting I go get checked out but if I pull through this coffee meet it'll convince him that I'm fine.

"What does this lil nigga look like?" Abel asked as we walked in.

".....Me", looks like he wasn't here yet so we grabbed a table and waited for him

"You feelin alright?", he looked into my eyes as I looked into his big brown eyes.

"Yeah I'm fine" I kissed his beardy cheek and he grabbed my hand.

We looked menu, if you ask me it's kinda weird that a coffee shop has a menu but it's New York so I mean that kind of explains it.

Abel let go of my hand and said "I'mma go order for us" he kissed my forehead and got up, leaving me at the table.

A few minutes later and Jae showed up....

"Hey is it just me or does that guy over there have the same hair as the weeknd's?" he asked while taking a seat across from me.

"Oh yeah I guess it does I didn't even notice him....I love the weeknd!", I played along.

"I do too I like his older music but I don't really follow his love life or anything....I just stick to the music."....."where's your boyfriend wasn't he coming?", he continued.

"Yeah he's in line ordering our drinks."

A few minutes and Abel showed up with two drinks one coffee and one that looks like a herbal tea.

"Sorry I took so long I signed someone's phone.", Jae was looking down at his phone so he hasn't realized who it was.

"Let me guess the tea is for me?"

"Yeah for your sick germy ass...you have to drink no excuses", I rolled my eyes and grabbed the tea, when Abel took a seat Jae put his phone down, looked at Abel, and froze.

"Holy Fucking Shit....Adira why is the weeknd holding your hand and why did he get tea for 'your sick germy ass'?", Me and Abel busted up laughing

"Because 'the weeknd' is my boyfriend Jae", I was still laughing.

Jae put his hand out for Abel to shake.

"Um the names Jaelin or Jae.....", He looked nervous

"Sup Jae...heard you dira's cousin."

"Uh yeah we", he cleared his throat "we met yesterday at the library and kinda talked."

"Aren't we here today to talk?"

"Yeah kinda like a redo from yesterday since I kinda ran off..." I mentioned then whispered "I'll explain later" in his ear, he nodded

45 minutes later

We've been talking for awhile, even exchanged some laughs. We talked about his parents and little siblings along with more family but my mouth started to get watery again.

"Excuse me for a minute." I covered my mouth amd rushed to the bathroom.

Abel Pov

"Yeah sorry she's been feeling sick since I think yesterday....I came yesterday cause I heard she was sick I'm making her go to urgent care after this" I said, excusing Adira.

"Yeah she looked a little sick yesterday but she said she left because she got an anxiety attack."

Before I can ask questions Adira came back.
