Chapter Twelve

  

Chapter 12

 

             Morning came quickly again, but everyone got up and was eager to start the plan. Sarah checked in on her grandfather and then went down to make some coffee and breakfast. The rest soon followed. Sarah took some coffee along with breakfast up to her grandfather but he insisted that he come down with the others and hear about this plan. Sarah called out to Chase to come help her. Chase and Blake came up and helped Simon down the stairs.

 

            As they were all eating breakfast, they were going over what their positions were and what each one was going to do. Kale and Sarah will go back to the mansion and do some work. Chase was going back to the station and put in a fake report to the chief. Blake was going to the office and talk with Melissa in his office since they know it is bugged and his cell isn’t anymore. First Blake will call Melissa and explain everything on the way to the office. Natalie will go to the lab and slip a fake report into her manager which in turn will hand it to the big boss which will call the police chief. Melanie will go back to city hall and have a conversation on the phone with Natalie so Marge over hears her. Simon is going to Kale’s parents to be safe and rest. While everyone is doing their part, they will all mention that they will be at an old hotel to meet and gave the address where the hotel is located. They are trying to lore the bad guys out to trap them.

 

           With everything and everyone in place, the plan takes off. Blake and Melissa were having their conversation as Melanie and Natalie are having theirs. Marge overhears and

immediately got on the phone to Eddy. Melanie said “Ok, gotta go” signaling to Natalie that Marge took the bait. Natalie hung up and sent her paperwork to her boss, which in turn took it personally to his boss. Natalie went back to the lab and smiled. Mel and Nat both called Chase to check in and let him know that their part is done. Blake called Chase and let him know that Melissa and he had just finished and that he saw Vincent run past his office in a hurry. Chase turned his report in and talked to the chief about it. Chase also told him there was one place he wanted to check out where he thinks the books are at. The chief asked where and Chase told him the old hotel on route forty four. The police chief told Chase to do it personally, he told Chase he was the best cop he has on the force and he wanted the best to do this job. Chase said he would do it and wouldn’t let him down. Chase then went back to his desk and called Kale. “Everything’s a go.” Chase said. “Great, Sarah and I are leaving now. We’ll meet you there as planned.” Kale said and hung up as he told Sarah it’s a go. They locked up the mansion and got into Kale’s new truck. Sarah got out her compact from her purse and looked behind them as they pulled out the driveway. “He’s getting into his car.” She told Kale. “Great. Call Chase.” Kale said to her. “Chase, he’s right behind us a few cars back” “Yeah we won’t lose him but we’ll get there ahead of him so he won’t see us” “Ok, see you in a bit.” Sarah looked at Kale and said ‘check’.

 

            Meanwhile, Eddy was fuming. He got on the phone to Vincent and Marge. “Listen to me. Meet me at this address NOW” Eddy said. Eddy slammed the phone down

and grabbed his briefcase. Storming out of his office, Eddy told his secretary to hold all his calls and that he has some business to take care of. Marge had made an excuse to leave and Vincent pretended he suddenly got ill and needed to leave to go home. As Eddy was driving his Mercedes, he called the police chief. “Get there fast” “Already on my way sir.” The police chief said. “These fucking punks are not going to spoil this for me.” Eddy said. “I understand sir and they won’t leave that building a live” said the police chief.
