I wake up on a Thursday morning to my regularly set alarm for school. But this time, I can hit snooze without worry of being late. school is out and I'm determined to make this summer the best of my life.

I of course fall back to sleep. Why get up before sunrise for no reason? At around 9 am I warily put my feet on the ground and stand up. Sleep still lingers in the very corners of my mind. I walk down my carpeted spiral staircase to the delightful smell of chocolate chip pan cakes. My favorite!!

"Here, Bella." My mom says shining a small smile at me. (Bella is my name)

"Thanks mom. Smells so freakin good." I say thankfully.

"My pleasure."

I gobble down my breakfast and go back up the stairs to my bathroom. I look in the mirror and see and quite thin, pale girl staring back at me. My long, wavy light brown hair ends right before my belly button. I wouldn't consider my self pretty. I don't think I'm ugly either. I'm kind of just plain. Just there.

I comb my hair and brush my teeth.

I head back to my room running over the cold wooden floor of the hallway. I choose to wear high waisted jean shorts and a light blue flowy tank top. I slump on my bed holding my iPhone above my face. My best friend Jess just texted me.

"Hey can I come over?"

"Sure, why?" I reply.

"My parents are fighting and I don't feel like listening."

"Oh I'm sorry.. course u can dummy."

"Haha thanks," she quickly types back.

"Np head here in 10 minutes and we can walk to the ice cream shop."

"Sounds good.. and thanks Bellz."

"Anytime."

I throw my phone on my bed and head down stairs to the living room. I Slouch down on the couch and manage to catch some of last night's episode of the bachelor before my mom walks in and grabs my attention.

"Sweetie."

"Uh oh.." I reply.

"Nothings wrong. Just that I want you to get out more and meet new people."

(I usually keep to myself unless I'm talking to Jess or my mom)

"I'm fine mom."

"No I want this to happen. There's a camp about an hour away that you can stay at for two weeks. I just called and signed you up."

"WHAT?!?!" I shout.

This cannot be happening.

"Shhhhh. You'll be fine and have fun."

"ARE YOU KIDDING?!? I have fun here with Jess!!"

"Only Jess. you need to meet more people!!"

"Not true." I begin to list past friends. "I still talk to Chloe and Jordan and maddy and soph..."

I'm interrupted by my mom once again, her tone now harsher.

"You're going. It's only for two weeks and you'll have fun."

"You're trusting your irresponsible, trouble making, 16 year old daughter to go live by herself for two weeks? Smart move.."

"Nice try."

Shoot. She's onto me.

"There will be other campers and councelors. That's it and it's final."

I finally hear a knock at the door. Jess. I can't wait to tell her how great the summer is starting of.....
