The day was going quickly. They had gone through breakfast and now were at the tug of war the camp made everyone participate in. It was dolphins against their counselors up first. Bella was pushed to the front of her cabin, being the smallest. Shawn wasn't last but closer to the back because he was strong and tall. They began to pull and Bella's hands slipped down the rope. It left red marks all over her palms. It even cut her skin open a bit. It went back and forth between them and the kids were winning. That was until the councilors all of a sudden got strength and thrusted the kids toward them. Bella was pushed to the side, right into a huge puddle of thick mud. Everyone look at her.

There were a bunch of wide mouths and hands covering smiles. She looked down at her lap, self conscious. She began to stand up when she heard a familiar laugh growing closer. She looked up and a familiar smile was approaching. Shawn couldn't stop laughing. He reached out his hand and helped her up.

"AHAHAHAHAH... of course this happens to you Bella."

"Shut up Shawn." She smiled and rolled her eyes. she couldn't hold back laughter anymore. She hadn't laughed like this in a really long time.

It was a genuine laugh.

He held her elbows while she struggled to get her feet out of the mud. Another boy came over and helped as well.. were all the boys at this camp hot?

When she finally got out she began to walk and slipped. She fell right into the other boys arms. He was a camper and was tall like Shawn. He had blonde hair with blue eyes. They stared at each other for a second before the boy spoke up.

"Hi I'm luke."

"Bella.. thanks for catching me haha." She replied.

"Anytime." He smiled flirtily at her.

She stabilized herself and looked around. Everyone went back to minding their own business. Where did Shawn go? She saw the back of his head as he walked silently into the crowd of kids and counselors once again. He looked over his shoulder to check if she was still in Luke's arms. He had this twinge of jealousy in his eyes and the look on his face was not a smile.

She didn't know what this meant. Why was he jealous? They were just friends right..

She couldn't chase him for she was covered in brown from head to toe. She started making her way back to the cabin being cautious not to slip. She showered quickly and let her hair dry into its natural waviness. She put on a blue pullover sweatshirt and black jean shorts. It was getting dark and the campfire would start soon. She headed down the path to Shawns cabin. She looked through the blinds and saw a shirtless Shawn pulling on a grey t shirt. She walked a little farther waiting for him to come out. That's when Luke approached her.

"Hey Bella!!" He said cheerfully.

"Oh hey Luke." She smiled softly at him. "What's up?"

He seemed nervous..

"I was um wondering.."

Then Shawn walked out and glanced over. He was listening trying not to seem obvious. Luke continued..

".. wondering if you wanted to maybe sit next to me at the um bon fire?"

Before she could say anything Shawn and Bella made eye contact and weirdly there was a hint of pain in Shawn expression. He walked away with his guitar on his back.

Bella wanted to get to know Luke, but tonight wasn't the night. How would she brush him off without being mean.

"Luke I'm not even sure if I want to go. Can we reschedule a hang out for another day.. maybe friday?"
