Bella's P.O.V

That didn't just happen. He's my best friend. Best friend. Bestfriend. Boyfriend? No, bestfriend.

We walked into his cabin which seems warmer than it did before. I'm not sure what I want to be to him... I love being his bestfriend and I love him.. in a friendly way... I don't want to ruin the greatness that already exists between our two hearts. I'm going to talk to him. Maybe eventually we could be more but for now, close best friends.

"Shawn..."

Shawns POV

"Yes bel?" I reply.

"Sit with me Mendes."

I get scared immediately and worry seeps through my veins as we sit on the comforter, making it wet.

She's so beautiful.

"I love you Shawn. As a bestfriend. I feel like I can tell u anything that troubles me, or makes me happy, or scared. I'm just not ready to date and if we were to make this more.. I want to get to know you."

Did I just get friend zoned? But she just said she loved me. My mind is scribble and I'm confused..

Bella's POV

His face looks confused and hurt but yet understanding at the same time.

He's so handsome.  I'm lucky to call him my best friend.

I put my hand on his cheek. I could cut my hand on his chiseled jaw line. I don't want to seem like I'm teasing him. This beautiful soul sitting before deserves nothing but the best.

"Bella I love you too. You're my bestfriend as well and I'll wait. Wait for you. I'll wait forever. You're very beautiful.."

His words tickle my spine and I look at the floor to hid the blush that had suddenly over come my cheeks.

He places his fingers under my chin and tilts my head ever so gently so that I'm looking straight into this brown eyes I could get lost in.

He then smiled and lead me to the door, opening it. The raindrops still fall, less heavily now. He walks me to my cabin and bids for farewell for then.

I fall asleep to the sounds of light pattering as the baby rain drops bounced off the roof. dreamy thoughts of having a bestfriend to rely on and love with all my heart.

Shawns POV

I can't sleep that night. Mixed thoughts dance around in my head so I show that in music. I'm sitting under a weeping willow tree hidden by the branches.

A few boys from a different cabin think they're slick by sneaking to the lake at 3 am. I laugh and mind my own business. I get lost in my strumming and I'm taken to another universe where anything and everything seems possible.

I quickly snap my neck up when I hear a splash, then some laughter. It's silent for a minute then I hear the screaming.

I hear prepubescent screeches from the young boys. "Where is he??" "He can't breathe under there." "Do I go in after him??"
