Eva's POV

Chris lightly snored as he held me close to his warm body. He had been fighting sleep for the past few hours but my mom told me she would watch over me. His tan, silky skin got chills as I realized that I had been hogging all of the covers. I covered him delicately before I rolled over and began to talk to my mom who came back with some food for herself.

"How long have you been here?" I ask her and she swallows the chip that she was chewing before speaking up.

"I've been here ever since you woke up. Chris has been here for about nine hours now. He called me right after he got you here." She says while clutching my hand tightly. I hold her hand the same way and a few tears escape her eyes before she wipes them away and brings up Chris once more.

"How long have you and Chris been together?" She asks while giving me a playful smirk. I laughed at her obnoxious ways before thinking.

"We've been together for about a week or two now. He's really great mom." I say and she nods while smiling at my happiness. Chris holds me tighter and pulls me closer to him before he takes a long sigh, falling deeper into his slumber.

...

"I wish I could stay but my boss really needs me back in Denmark so I can go to Copenhagen tomorrow. I'll be home in a few days." My mom explains as she stands outside her car. Tears are welling up in both my eyes and her own and I wish she could be here with me but I know that Chris will be my protector.

Chris gives my mom a hug before I embrace her in a long one and we go our separate ways. Chris helps me over to his car before we get in slowly. My head begins to hurt and I wonder when the medication that the doctor gave me will kick in. He starts the car and we just sit in the parking lot for a few minutes. He stares at me and I stare at him, trying to figure out what he's thinking.

"I love you." He blurts out before placing a loving kiss to my lips. Our lips move in sync and all the pain in my body becomes indifferent in this moment. He kisses me as if he was suffocating and I was the only source of air. He pulls away and speaks up.

"I'm sorry for saying that. I just...I realized today that I honestly do love you. I waited nearly ten hours for you, praying that you would live. That takes a lot out of someone to do." He says as he stares down at his steering wheel while grasping my hand delicately.

"I love you too." I whispered while giving his hand a little squeeze of hope. His head turned to me and I watched a blush grow over his handsome face as he tried to hide his wide grin from my loving statement.

"Do you mind if we go somewhere before we go back to my place?" He asks and I nod, not even caring that he had told me we were gonna go back to his.

...

"Can I help you two?" A rugged looking police officer said as we entered the large police station downtown. I stared at Chris before he spoke up shakily.

"We need to report a crime." I stared down at my feet before a few police officers escorted us to talk privately.

"What type of crime do we need to report today?" A female police officer asked. She had a smile towards Chris and I and I spoke up anxiously.

"Domestic violence." I said as my voice cracked. The female police officer pulled me back to interrogate me privately after realizing that I was the victim. Chris was asked to stay up front yet I begged enough that the kind police officer let him come back with me.

"When did the first assault happen?" The female officer asks with a monotonous tone.

"About two weeks ago. My boyfriend choked me after we had gone to a party and some drama happened." I say while remembering the way Jonas' rough hand wrapped around my neck. I wondered if she could see the bruises still slightly visible on my neck and I realize she does once I see her getting closer to examine them.

"What other assaults have happened and when?" She asks with a solid voice that cracks a little.

"He's pinned me down and bitten me. He's threatened my life and he recently pushed me down and I broke my skull. All of these happening this past week." I say while preparing to show her the proof.

...

We walk out of the large building just as the sun begins to set. The sky slightly changes back and forth from purple to pink. Chris holds my hand delicately as we walk in the cool air downtown. The breeze slowly rushing throughout the night, making my skin form goosebumps. Chris notices before taking off his Penetrators hoodie and handing it to me. I oblige by throwing it over my head delicately as we get closer to the car. He opens my passenger side door for me and I get in quickly so he can get in on his side. Once he turns on the car, the heat slowly flows out and caresses every part of my skin. He grabs my hand which makes me stare at him. He smiles while rubbing his thumb against my dry skin.

"I know that what just happened was tough but I won't let him hurt you ever again." He says  and I think of Ingrid and how things will only get worse with her.

"What about Ingrid?" I ask and he is taken aback by my sudden worry over her.

"If she wants to testify then she can. She can stay with us if you don't think it's safe for her." He says sympathetically. I thank him by placing a loving kiss to his lips and I decide to call her now. I dial her number slowly and after the first ring she picks up.

"Eva?" She sounds like she's been crying and I speak up after hearing her breaking voice.

"What's wrong Ingrid?" I ask and she speaks up after sniffling a few times.

"Jonas was just over here and he was upset about something and so he.."She breaks down once again and I tell Chris how to get to her house.

"Ingrid pack a bag with as much clothes as you can and everything you think you'll need. Chris and I are coming to get you." I hear her mutter a quick 'okay' before we stop by my place to pick up some stuff. Chris says he will stay up front and wait and once I get inside, I see that my place has been destroyed. The couch is flipped over and the beautiful lamps my mother bought out of town are shattered. I make my way slowly into my room scared of what I will find. Once I get in my room I see a bottle of alcohol lying on the floor. My bookcase and desk are shoved on its side and my delicate things have slowly began to break.

I realize that I don't have much time and I grab the largest bag I can before shoving practically my whole wardrobe in it and my basic necessities. I grab my backpack for school and few other things such as a phone charger and my laptop that hasn't been harmed and I wondered why it was laying on my bed after I had left it on my nightstand. I rush out of the house and back into Chris' car before rushing over to Ingrid's place.

She waits outside for us and once she sees me, she rushes over to the car and hops in. She tells us to drive and we make our way to Chris' place. The drive is shorter than usual and once we arrive, we slowly make our way inside. Chris carries our bags inside and Ingrid shakes as we walk in. Her eye is puffy and black, signaling that Jonas had punched her earlier within the day. Chris' house is bigger than expected and I wonder if he lives here with anyone else as we finally walk in the lavish home.

"Ingrid, you can take the guest room farthest down the hall. You have a bathroom and a queen size bed in there and the door locks so you can have your privacy." Chris tells her and she speaks up.

"Thank you. I..I promise I won't tell Jonas about you and Eva." She says while hugging me tightly as if I had just saved her life. She made her way upstairs with her bag and into the designated room that Chris had told her she could. Chris walked me upstairs and I followed him slowly before walking into the master bedroom with him. A king size bed sat against the wall and a beautiful bathroom sat adjacent to it.

"Welcome to your new home baby." He said while setting my bag down and carrying me over to the bed delicately like I truly was his baby. He set me down before placing his lips against mine. His lips softly touched me and I loved the blissful feeling after the past few hectic hours.
