Chapter 23

Ingrid's POV

I laid in bed silently as I stared at the ceiling, trying to get some sleep but every two seconds my phone would vibrate on my nightstand, signaling Jonas was texting me. He had been nonstop texting me for two or three hours now and I couldn't make it stop. I grabbed the vibrating device before throwing it harshly against the wall making it shatter just as I had hoped it would. I sighed in relief and reminded myself that once I woke up from my slumber, I would need to go out and get a new one.

I closed my eyes slowly before nightmares of Jonas pumping himself inside me shook me awake. My eyes remained open for a few more minutes before I forced myself to close my eyes and sleep. Images of Jonas harshly attaching his lips to my neck harassed me for mere hours longer until slumber relieved my brain from its torture. By the time my body had woken itself up, I had felt relaxed beyond any other time. It was three in the afternoon and I couldn't hear Chris or Eva so I assumed they were still asleep. I made my way out of the comfortable bed before walking over to the lavish bathroom. I started running a bath for myself while thinking about how tomorrow was the hearing for Jonas. The bath began to fill up the oval shaped, porcelain tub which was my cue to undress and test the water to see if it was too hot or just right.

My long legs stepped into the tub slowly before my whole body settled in, making me result to turn off the water so I didn't flood the nice bathroom. The scalding water engulfed my body slowly as I sunk lower into the water, letting myself get lost within the quiet surroundings. I think about how hectic these past few days have been and think about how I just want to have a relaxing day. The water begins to get cold and I slowly make my out after pulling the drain out. I wrap a white towel around my body before walking into the exposed room so I can find something to wear. I eventually just throw on a pair of leggings and a white lace tank top that flowed out towards the bottom. I wore a burgundy colored cardigan to keep myself warm through the house and yet still have an acceptable appearance in case I choose to go out today.

I make my way out of the room slowly, seeing the door across the hall already opened up and the smell of breakfast invades my nose. I smile at the delicious smell before walking downstairs to see what exactly is being made. Eva stands in the kitchen with her back towards the stairway and I rush down to see what she's doing. Once my feet hit the tile within the kitchen, she turns to look at me. She groans in annoyance and I laugh while wondering what's wrong.

"Damn it Ingrid! I was gonna bring you breakfast in bed!" She screamed while pretending to chuck something at me. I laugh while going over to hug her and she embraces me quickly before turning back towards the pan.

"Sorry. I got up early and decided to have a day full of pampering." I state and she smiles towards me. Eva and I used to always go out and have girls days practically every weekend.

"We can go out after we eat breakfast if you want." She says while sticking on fresh french toast to the large pile on the plate. She walks it over to the table where many other things sit. A bowl of fresh fruit along with bacon and sausage that sits on a decorative plate matching the french toast plate.

I made myself a plate slowly before Eva sat down in front of me. We ate slowly as Chris came down the stairs slowly. His hair was wet, signalling he was taking a shower. He smiled towards me and I smiled back before Eva spoke up.

"So, game plan for today. Ingrid and I are going to go shopping and pamper ourselves to try and relax before the hearing tomorrow so that leaves the whole house to you." She says while turning her body slightly to look at him. He nods while taking a bite of bacon and smiling towards me. I proudly sigh as excitement grows within my body.

Chris hands Eva the keys to the spare car sitting within the garage before waving us off for our day of fun. We drive slowly out of the nice neighborhood before coming to an agreement of going to a nice spa that just opened up near the mall called Gloshouz. We drove while playing music through the bluetooth effect in the car. We laugh as she sped through a red light unknowingly before pulling into a small parking lot of a modern looking building. We exchanged surprised look before walking into the new building, only to find it empty. I wasn't surprised since it was Monday afternoon and the spa had just opened up about a week ago. A twenty-something year old walked over to us before speaking up.

"Welcome in ladies. What can we do for you two today?" Eva looked at all of the wondrous things the place offered before speaking up for us.

"We would like mani-pedis, and a full body massage." She spoke while the young lady nodded her head at the choices. She lead us over to sleek chairs that had a small oval tub at the end of it and I suddenly thanked myself for wearing leggings that were easy to roll up. The lady offered us drinks and we had decided to go with fruit water. A small menu was handed to us showing a variety of foods and a variety of colors for us to choose from. Eva stared intently before turning to me and speaking up.

"What do you think you're gonna get Ingrid?" Eva says while continuously flipping the menu back and forth. I look at the menu before deciding on a charcuterie plate. The lady that helped us up front went towards the back of the building and about ten minutes later came back with a large tray of fancy meats and cheese along with bread and crackers. I smile before deciding on a magenta color for my fingers and toes. The color had a slight ombre effect from chaste white to deep magenta which was beautiful in my eyes.

The color was gently painted on and soon enough, I was waiting for Eva to finish up so we could go to the back rooms and get the massage we wanted and desperately needed. The lady doing Eva's nails quickly dismissed her while two stood in the back by the room holding robes over their forearms. I smiled at the lovely sight and my body relaxed by itself suddenly as the ladies told us that they would be back soon as we undressed and laid on the table.

"That felt so nice. Honestly we deserved that over these past few hectic days." I said as we lazily sauntered out of the spa. Eva and I got back in the car before heading towards a local boutique filled with cute clothes. Eva found a modest dress for tomorrow and I decided that I would want to look my best and decided to find at least two dresses. I grabbed a simple black and white dress with a bold pink stripe towards the bottom that was paired with a thin hot pink belt to match the stripe and as I gave up finding the second dress, I looked up at the mannequin standing in front of me. A white dress with dark blue flowers practically covering every inch of the white background. The front went down to about the knees of the statue and the back flowed out delicately like an amazing evening gown.

I chose my size of the remaining dresses that hung on the rack behind the mannequin and soon made my way to the dressing room beside Eva's. I slipped the material of the black dress first, showing a lovely dress before smiling at my appearance. I practically ripped off the clothing before sliding the eccentric gown on me. I walked out to look at myself in the three way mirror and saw Eva walk out at the same time as me, staring at the lovely gown before gasping with a quick squeal to follow.

"That dress is amazing on you! You have to get it!" She exclaimed before making me twirl, making me feel beautiful. I stare at myself in the mirror, taking in the way that the dress hugs my somewhat curvy and skinny figure. I stared at how my long legs made me look great and I knew that I had to buy this dress. Not only for my own confidence but to show Jonas that no matter how hard he tries to break me, I'll come out a better woman than I ever was before. He thinks that he can break me easily? Two can play at that game.
