She woke up alone.

She didn't fall asleep alone though.

Throughout the eight hours of slumber she got, she would occasionally (purposely) stir in her sleep just to make sure he was still there.

He was.

Her back toward him, she would scoot further into his chest and wait for it. Wait for him to take the arm he had wrapped around her and pull her further into him.

He didn't have to say anything and neither did she; the simple action of reassurance enough to allow her to go back to sleep.

Being awake would only lead to more crying.

She saved that for her dreams.

Actually, her dreams were those of happier times, the good memories she had of her brother. Occasionally, dreadful flashbacks of Sammy sick and spitting up blood would invade her bubble and she would whimper in her sleep.

Whenever that happened, Isaac would always wake up and lightly caress the top of her head, whispering encouraging words in her ear. Whether she actually heard him was irrelevant as she would seem to calm down immediately after.

So, when Chamony woke up at eight something and saw he was no longer in bed with her, her heart dropped.

Sitting up in bed, she stared at the mess that was her room for a few seconds. She shivered, remembering the plethora of emotions she went through while the destruction took place.

Not wanting to reflect on the memories, she kicks the covers off and walks over to the dresser. Kicking objects out of her way, she picks up some toiletries before digging in her drawers for clothes.

"You're up."

She looks up in her mirror to see Isaac standing in the doorway.

She only nods in response, "I'm gonna go take a shower." Her voice is croaky and scratchy, no doubt from all the wailing from earlier. "I smell like weed and Hennessy."

It's meant as a joke, but comes out stoic.

"You've got ten minutes." She turns around to look at him with confusion. "If you're not out of there by then; I'm coming in."

Too exhausted to put up a fight, she simply says, "okay."

After all, how did she expect im to act?

He had walked in on her in the midst of a suicide attempt.

Why should he trust her?

She quickly got in the shower, not having time to wash her hair, but thankful the smell seemed to only be limited to her body and clothes. The water feels good and allows her silent tears to blend in seamlessly.

After throwing on her white camisole and jogger pants, she exits to see Isaac is no longer in her room. Walking out, she heads to the kitchen, surprised at the sight waiting for her.

"You cook?" She looks down at the tacos and sprite.

"A little," he shrugs and then gestures down to the food. "Eat."

They do so in silence, and when she gets up and places their dishes in the sink; he watches her like an eagle.

"Where is Dana?"

"I asked if we could have some time alone."

"What you trying to do Bolton?"

"Damnit Chamony!" He snaps, but catches himself. "This isn't funny!"
