Jacob always asks Edward for his blessing. I've never seen a story in which he doesn't. It doesn't bug me that much as other clichés, but . . . It won't hurt if at least in one story, Renesmee and Jacob just announce that they are planning to get married, without Jacob having to ask for blessing.

Also, they never get married in Vegas.
